Asus 17.3" Republic of Gamers Strix GL702VS Notebook

Asus packs a lot of gaming power into a slim 17.3-inch notebook. Even so, the laptop does not produce too much noise or heat. Due to the deactivated integrated GPU, the laptop consumes more power while idling than necessary.

The Asus Strix GL702VM-DB71 offers excellent performance in a well-presented 17.3" package. It has just as much performance as the Strix 15 for the same price. The Strix 17 also offers at least two hours of gaming on battery life.

ASUS continues to perform a nice work on the material and design of its GL702VM. If we had to nitpick, we think the palm rest is a tad big for our liking but overall quality is top notch.

The ASUS ROG GL702VM-DS74 is a reasonably priced entry point into Pascal graphics and midrange gaming. This laptop packs a couple of nice features including plenty of storage, good connectivity and solid performance.

In very few words, the Asus ROG GL702VM is a good multimedia / gaming 17-inch laptop. It performs flawlessly, it gets a high-refresh IPS screen with GSync that's great for gaming, as well as a nice keyboard and good IO, all in a fairly portable body.

We have just one issue with the Asus ROG Strix GL702V: its trackpad does some strange things, most likely because of driver issues. Operating under the assumption this can or will be fixed, this is a great gaming laptop.

There’s little headroom for VR and future-proofing, it’s ergonomically middling, and it doesn’t have the features or power of pricier rivals. That said, the GTX 1060, solid Full HD screen and decent components elsewhere mean the GL702VM is an excellent and affordable gaming laptop.

I have traditionally built my own computers but my new job involves a ton of traveling and so the need came to give up a desktop for a laptop.I rated the ASUS ROG GL702VS 5 stars not because it was perfect but because I feel like the product received was well worth the price tag.

I love this thing! I bought it to start University as a Mechanical Engineer. I knew I needed something that could handle every CAD and 3D Data Visualisation program I threw at it for the next four years, but also something that could make my favorite video games look amazing.

Light and slim. Installed Samsung 850 Evo 500Gb SSD right away and installed Ubuntu. No issues in Ubuntu other than kb backlight and some Fn keys not working (I'm sure a workaround will be available soon enough). Runs great in Ubuntu 14+. Great for gaming.

Great gaming laptop, great graphics card , really fast , runs smoothly definitely worth the price. It's so good to play games on this laptop !
