Going into this review, we had some unreasonably high expectations. Previous Acer Predator gaming monitors which graced our lab never let us down and each brought something new and unique to the table.
I just got the 4k version and aside from the osd being difficult and having to adjust the gamma and a few other settings the screen is ok. I don't know if I want to keep it yet or return it for a third Samsung 24" 1080p which right now is slaying the Acer in terms of quality
The image quality and build quality of the monitor itself are quite good. This should be a 5 star review. However, the supplied cables are all too short. When you buy a cable, 6' is a standard length. The cables supplied with this monitor, though are all 5'.
I love this monitor so much, its a f*ing beast. 4K 60 fps with gsync is absolutely worth it. However I would recomend getting some quality speakers, the internal ones are not that great but they're there if you need them.
if i sit on a couch and absorb static electricity and when i touch the metal on my desk and accidentally cause a static shock the monitor freaks out for 1 second. no other monitor does this. other than that, its cool.
I have no problems with the monitor but this doesn't justify the price tag. I expected to be astonished every time I turned it on especially since I took a leap from 1280 x 1024.
I still get screen tearing even with G-Sync enabled. I'm extremely disappointed in this monitor. Go for a higher quality one.
Great monitor. Awesome for 4K gaming. I like the design as well.
I bought this monitor about 10 months ago, it's had some minor back light bleed, but overall good performance. About 1 month ago, I noticed significant image retention after a static image (task bar, overlays in-game, etc.) is displayed for anymore than 10 or 15 minutes.
Within the first year of purchase, half of my panel artifacts or tore. Within the second year, constant flashing/tearing. Thought it was maybe G-sync hating my graphics card... a couple years later, upgrade to a 2080 only to same the same effect.
Well, I have to start out by saying that I upgraded from a different 4k monitor that I thought was awesome to this Acer Predator monitor and what a jump in performance and picture quality! I mean pretty much all my games are more vibrant, colorful, and the picture quality is second to none.
