There’s a certain kind of computing nostalgia that holds that the art of typing has been steadily wussified since the late 1980s, when the venerable IBM Model M and Apple Extended Keyboard went out of favor. These keyboards, it is held, were the last of a breed of keyboards for men .

Mechanical keyboards are back from the dead, in style and better than ever. Today's keyboards are all about being as stealthy as a hovering black ninja in complete darkness. Like many of you out there, I love me my silent and squishy keyboard keys with an extra layer of silence that is a silicone...

I decided to upgrade to this keyboard from an Apple chiclet. The clicky keys are nice to type on with no worries of double characters like I had with the Apple keyboard. Boot-up drive selection DOES work with this keyboard (I hold down the alt/option key during bootup).

This keyboard can be connected with PS/2 port (if you've got one!) or via USB. PS/2 connectivity will prevent "ghost keys" or "key jamming" when too many keys are pressed at the same time.

Feel: Allows for as light or hard a touch as you want and still registers a key press. Pleasant, minor resistance on each key. A pleasure to type on. Sound: Louder than any laptop or desktop membrance keyboard, but much quieter than older clicky keyboards.

Requires PS/2 port to guarantee no "key jamming" when multiple keys are pressed simultaneously. Still, I've never run into an issue while typing or programming. I don't game on this keyboard - I use it exclusive at the office, so I can't speak to any WASD keyboard jamming issues.

Best tactile keyboard I've ever used. It's pricey yes, but with the amount of time I spend at my keyboard (and the numerous keyboards I've bought) I thought I'd invest in the best keyboard I could. This thing is built like a tank, and I love the sound from the blue key switches.

After employing a Microsoft keyboard for some years it is very nice to have a keyboard designed for the Mac. The Microsoft keyboard is also top rate, but because it is designed for a PC system the keys do not always match up with the Mac.

Love this keyboard, being able to type as fast as I need to and feel the keys click is the only way to type. I love apple products but sometimes you need a real solid keyboard for typing and das keyboard does it well. With the volume controls and USB 3.0 connections this is my new favorite keyboard.

I'm not a patient guy and make my living as a telecommuter. Since this entails writing hundreds of emails, I need a keyboard I can actually type on. While the Apple extended keyboard that came with my 2017 iMac looks great, as a writing tool it's a miserable failure.

Pros: One of the few Mac mechanical keyboards available. Das Keyboard makes some amazing mechanical keyboards and this is no exception. Really good clicks thanks to the Chery MX Blue switches. Looks pretty good. Strong prints on the keys.

Guaranteed to annoy your co-workers with its satisfying thunder clacks! Beware, apple has a crusade against functionality, and this keyboard requires two adjacent USB slots in order for both the keyboard and its USB slots to work.

This is a great keyboard for those looking for a great typing experience. The MX Blue switches offers a nice "clicky" tactile feedback that makes typing word documents a complete joy.
