The EVGA X99 Classified joins an elite group of motherboards aimed at satisfying the needs of overclocking, gaming and hardware enthusiasts. While this group is small by comparison the things they look for in a motherboard can be rather specific and not always well suited for the average user.

I really miss the red accents USB keyboard not ideal for BCLK overclocking Strange 16x lane configuration in 4-way SLI
In a way I feel like I have gone full circle. When I first got serious about overclocking I saved up and picked up the X58 Classified soon after it launched. Here I am now toying with EVGAs latest model. While things have changed there are a few things that have stayed the same.
EVGA is known for providing some of the best video cards on the market. Let's see how they stack up with Intel's new X99 chipset with the X99 Classified.
The EVGA X99 Classified gives any enthusiast the tools they need to get the most from their Haswell-E Processor. While overclocking the i7 5960X to 4.9 GHz, the X99 Classified was eager to please and capable of pushing it as far as it would go.
The EVGA X99 Classified proved itself to be a great board during the time that I’ve been using it. When it comes down to it, the performance of the EVGA X99 Classified was right where it should be.
The outward facing SATA connections combined with the larger size of this board can cause interferences with some case configurations. Measure your enclosure carefully to check for this and be prepared to do some very minor case modding if your favorite case won't accommodate this board when all...

The motherboard produces stable overclocks with my memory and CPU, has great components, a good UEFI interface with plenty of customizability and fine grained control of many settings, and has been reliable in the long term.

It's a large board, which isn't necessarily a significant con, but the buyer should be aware of case capacity.
Everything works perfect! no problems at all, stable and easy to understand bios layout and intel-lan chip works with full duplex (1 Gb ) speed! I am a big EVGA fun now!
At this time I would not recommend this board over the FTW-K. Make a Classified-K, basically take the FTW-K, give it M.2 Wifi/bluetooth socket, and 2x 8-pin power sockets, and make it with all 4-pin PWM fan sockets, give it the bios from the EVGA laptop SC-17, maybe extra pins for a OC socket.

Extremly stable overclocker black aesthetics that fit most builds, the red "E" can be taken out its just glued on. M.2 SSD AND M.2 Wifi/bluetooth spots, most motherboards only have M.2 SSD.

-the IO bracket that goes to the computer is extremely cheaply made. -no USB type C -only single USB 3.0 jack -dual hinge RAM sockets, can't take ram when there is a gpu in PCIE 1 -lacks killer LAN like FTW-K -lacks premium audio like FTW-K -aesthetically the black nickel cpu socket on the FTW-K is...
Coming from being a long term asus only user I decided to try another brand. I was thoroughly impressed with the x99 classified board! The ui for the uefi bios was eons better than my previous x79 sabertooth board. I also have to tip my hat at the build quality.
I started using EVGA when ASUS support turned their back on me hard a few years ago, they are HORRIBLE. I would never go back. I want to give a shout out to your support department, for having great support so far. I would definitely recommend this board to others if they have the cash to spend.

This motherboard has been great. I didn't upgrade for about 5 years previous to purchasing this beast, and so far after a year of owning it I have no issues. I originally purchased it to use the m.2 feature later and it was a breeze using the BIOS. -BIOS is probably the easiest I've ever used.

Let me say these are minor things after a year of having the board and I still would recommend it to everyone, but to be a full review I felt it was necessary. -I've had issues on restarts where the BIOS will hang (even after an update to the latest of July 2016) this is rare and goes away after a...
Pros: Well designed. This board, being EVGA's top of the line board, is well thought out. Things like the 90 degree power connectors make it easier to clean up cabling. Additional power connections for the CPU and PCI lane to increase stability while overclocking.
This is my 4th EVGA board, had a Z87 FTW (GF's PC) and an X79 Dark (Mine) then upgraded to the Z170 FTW and this board respectively. I have used other boards in builds people have had me do for them but I keep coming back to EVGA for my personal builds.

Placement of connectors is great, ample number of fan headers. Made it very easy to get up and running. The motherboard is very solid it's thick and feels well made.

No preloaded overclock settings. One feature I have liked on MSI boards is the profiles for different overclock setting.
I bought this item about 2 years ago. I was able to overclock my 5960x and my 32gb ddr4! I love the BIOS interface and the onboard temp display. I'm very satisfied with this motherboard!
I've been looking into a full upgrade with the 1080s coming out and this MoBo still stands as the best x99 board i have had. Will continue to use this board until the next socket generation comes out.

-Have owned this MoBo since 3/25/15 and its been running fine and OEcd since install. -Very stable OC after finding voltage limits of your CPU. -Easy to use Bios for Setup and OC
-
-
-Not enough pins for front USB 2.0 ports if you use a AIO Liquid cooling block that needs this port.
The designers / engineers were not thinking very well / clearly on this one, be careful!! They have jambed the #1 (Main) PCI slot right up next to the RAM slots. This causes a problem when yoiu have a video card installed in that slot.
