Introducing the Storm RDX. An adrenaline-fueled machine built for the hunter who refuses to be fenced in by convention. Powered by Hortons radical RDX Technology, the Storm measures an incredible 10" axle-to-axle when cocked, and delivers its 400-grain carbon arrow at a blazing 370 FPS with 122 foot pounds of kinetic energy.
The Horton Storm RDX bow assembly sets an unprecedented standard in crossbow maneuverability with its remarkably narrow profile. A machined, lightweight aluminum riser is outfitted with a self-locking limb pocket and cap system that prevents limb twist and provides added cushioning that reduces limb stress. The pockets are then fitted with 13-inch tactical black 165-pound limbs, powered by a custom RDX Cam System and DynaFLIGHT 97 string and cables. The machined aluminum RDX cams feature 440 stainless steel bearings to increase performance and improve stability.
The foundation of the Storm RDXs stock assembly is its lightweight, three-piece ABX (Adjustable Bullpup Crossbow) butt stock and barrel receiver. The high-tech stock features an adjustable cheek piece and butt plate. The rubber cheek piece adjusts to any of seven fixed positions by removing the screws and sliding the comb to create perfect eye-level alignment. Likewise, the rubber butt plate adjusts to one of three fixed positions to match up perfectly with the shooters length-of-pull.
The Storms machined, 20-inch tactical barrel is slotted to reduce weight. It is equipped with a 2 1/2-inch bullpup version of the companys 3 1/2 lb. T3 trigger, housed in a lightweight machined aluminum trigger box. Its weaver-style dovetail is fitted with a nylon-filament arrow retention brush. This innovation improves arrow grip and alignment and reduces noise and vibration. Like all Horton models, the trigger assembly is also equipped with a trigger safety and DFI (Dry-Fire-Inhibitor). Once outfitted, the barrel and trigger assembly bolts into the stocks receiver.
