A couple of years ago, the Hubsan FPV X4 quadcopter was billed as the world's smallest consumer drone to provide first-person-view video. That was enough to get us interested, so we reviewed the thing . Although we mostly liked what it had to offer, there were a few shortcomings.
This is a fun little drone to fly, but it is difficult to get it dialed in. Ours constantly strays to one side so we have to compensate for that when we fly. Long battery life and super durable. My son has crashed it several times and it continues to fly.
Major issue besides the English manual being hard to understand and full of grammatical errors. The battery is very difficult to disconnect all the time from the drone and it would be possible to damage the plugs because of it.
Crashed on first flight..
It takes time to learn how to fly it and I do recommend reading the manual before trying to operate it. I have not recorded any video yet and so cannot comment on that part of the drone.
Small enough to use on rainy days indoors!
Definitely need more blades. the blades chip easy.
I would recommend but spare parts crash pack hard to find.
Flies steadily, superb video quality for 720p , photos are a bit blurry but it is not designed for that purpose. When batteries are going low in transmitter you still have control but no video feed. Watch out on low bat. Flies nicely at night, video amazingly bright over parking lot.
My son flew this a number of times with great control and then it decided that it wouldn't return for him no matter what he tried. NO RETURN. Just watched it fly off in the distance not to be found again. What a waste of money.
Got this at xmas what a great flyer but have just ordered some spare batteries have had some great prop protectors made they cost me £10.00 but these are good
