Irix made a splash when they launched the 15mm F2.4. With its wide angle, fast aperture, claims of high optical performances and, most importantly, support for Pentax's K-mount, it drew the attention of many.

Dramatic vignetting on full frame, Flare present and obvious at all times, Soft corners at wider apertures, general softness at smaller apertures, Important distortion, Decentering issues
While reviewing this lens, I was not being overwhelmingly convinced of its value proposition. But, when I started putting the Irix 15mm f/2.4 Blackstone Lens up against the comparables, I began to see it in a different light.
Some of these features have never been done by any manufacturer and it gives Irix quite an edge. For this reason, the Irix 15mm f2.4 Blackstone is surely worthy of our highest praise.
Undoubtedly the constructors of the Samyang 14 mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC, compared to the constructors of the Irix, took the easy way out. Firstly, they gave up on any distortion correction, a reprehensible practice in any case.

Monstrous vignetting on full frame,, Weak performance against bright light.
I recently received this Irix 15mm lens. Most of the reviews I've read give this high marks. In spite of this I was surprised, once I started to take photos, just how sharp the images were. I am very satisfied with this. There is the issue of the focus ring not being calibrated; mine is spot on.
Absolutely love this lens, super sharp on the Pentax K1ii and really easy to focus. Was not to sure about this or the 11mm but decided on the 15mm as I thought the 11mm would be to wide and am glad I decided in the 15mm..especially since it accepts filters.
This lens does everything that I expected it to do for a ultra wide lens. Very sharp when stopped down to 5.6 especially for such a wide angle lens. This lens is large, you'll need to make space in your camera bag went's not mounted on the camera
I am an amateur photographer. Bought the lens while on vacation in Glacier/Banff. Works perfectly on my Pentax K3. It is a very large lens, especially compared to the Pentax 21mm. Build quality is very tight. Form, fit and function is very good.
The Irix 15mm Lens Is a monster on my Petax K1. Im very Happy with My Night Photography. I Cant wait to try the 11MM.
