The Noctilux no doubt is an impressive lens, not just because of its size and weight. Center resolution is very good to excellent throughout the tested aperture range. In contrast, though, the image borders and corners are very soft at large apertures, but improve considerably by stopping down.

Wonderful lens through and through. Using it on a Sony A7RII. I just got done with a major milestone project and used this lens for it. Granted, not wide open but rather stopped down to f/16 in complete darkness with nothing but a 200 lumen flashlight and the results were outstanding.

I shoot with this lens for 4 months straight now. I would say that the performance is very very well worth the money. when I set the aperture at 1.4, the bokeh is better than any 50mm 1.4 lens I have ever used. Now let's face it, we all looking at this lens because of it's speed shooting wide open.

I knew this lens would be soft, I read all the reviews. But it is just WAY too soft wide open (where you want to use it)

This lens makes you get creative with its insane f/0.95 and its low light capabilities. In addition, the fact that it is a totally manual lens, makes you enjoy photography and film making especially with Sony alpha series.The built quality is good and feels solid.

Normal, predicible people tend to be boring. It that wild, quirkly crazy, astonishing kinda' person who is most fun to be with. No to anthropomorphize the chunk of glass, but this lens is FUN! Who are always amazed at what it produces for you. This lens is art in your hands and mind.

it must be a bad copy. this ruins my photos

i received a terrible copy. and returns day passed and i am at the other corner of America in Argentina i havent got what expected. i dont know how to proceed and what to do! im depressed. i put a lot of effort and hard work to buy that lens and i am really dissapointed.

First of all, wide open, you literally can't shoot people well enough but for still objects its pretty good. at 1.4 is where this lens shines, especially for people shots. But at the end of the day it still my favorite lens in the world and for that it get 5 stars.
