The highlight of the latest IdeaPad Flex 5 14 is clearly its AMD CPU. The octa-core Ryzen 7 5700U is insanely fast even when compared to the best Tiger Lake Ultrabooks in the market or even Core H CPUs in many gaming laptops.
-
+
generally quiet fan noise during low loads, impressive CPU multi-thread performance, USB-C and proprietary barrel charger, very high CPU performance-per-watt, physical webcam shutter, easy serviceability, long battery life, inexpensive
-
-
relatively large and heavy for its category, no significant gen-to-gen GPU upgrades, no Thunderbolt or DisplayPort-over-USB, poorly calibrated display out of the box, loud fan noise when under high loads, RAM is not user-upgradeable, low maximum brightness, narrow gamut, no IR camera
As capable as it is affordable, the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i 14 is a midsized convertible that gets the basics right.
-
+
Practical, sturdy design, Comfortable keyboard, Generous memory and storage amounts, Two USB Type-A and HDMI ports, Webcam privacy shutter and fingerprint reader
-
-
Relatively heavy for a 14-inch ultraportable, Dim 250-nit display
With the AMD Ryzen 5000 hardware inside, the Flex 5 is one of the most powerful 14-inch budget laptops you can get right now. It's also a convertible and doesn't compromise on the build quality, inputs, audio, IO, or battery life, but it does come with one major deal-breaker: a dim and washed-out...
-
+
clean and practical design, well made for the class, fine inputs and good IO, good implementation of the Ryzen 7 5700U hardware, snappy and quiet with daily activities, and fast with games and demanding tasks, long battery life, excellent value, especially when on sale
-
-
bit chunky and heavy for a 14-incher in 2021, dim and washed out screen, the small feet choke the air intakes, causing the hardware to run hot with demanding loads; bumping up the back makes a huge difference
“The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 offers incredible value and solid performance with very few compromises.”
Thanks to a brand-new AMD Ryzen processor, Lenovo's IdeaPad Flex 5 14 offers an extraordinary blend of performance and value for money, making it one of the best popularly priced 2-in-1 convertibles we've tested.

+
Robust computing performance, Excellent value, Soft-touch, durable chassis, Screen supports touch input, Webcam privacy shutter, Two USB Type-A ports

Relatively heavy for a 14-inch ultraportable, Dim 250-nit display
Lenovo's 2021 iteration of IdeaPad Flex 5 14 brings a healthy upgrade in the performance department. Now equipped with the latest AMD Ryzen 5000 series CPU, this 2-in-1 machine delivers great performance.
I've had it for a couple of days now and its pretty good. i've experienced a bug with the mouse but it has only happened twice and goes away after 2 or 3 seconds. I will be returning it though because the laptop's fan goes off 24/7. The laptop heats easily that the fan seems to never turn off.
I wanted an additional unit for my photography and craftsman model projects. The writing feature on this baby is fantastic. The pen works just great and is very precise. I have different PCs for different uses. But since I received this from Lenovo, I find myself using it continually using it.
Great budget laptop! Perfect size. Very thin.At this price there's no illuminated keyboard and only 4GB Ram (DDR4). It's pretty quick. Only drawback is the RAM is not upgradable because it's soldered on. (From what I've read.
I've had my new Lenovo IdeaPad for about a week, and so far, I'm liking it, especially the keypad touch. It's softer than my old laptop, and requires so much less pressure. I shopped around and compared before making my final choice, glad I did. I'd definitely recommend it.
The new Ryzen 4000 series makes laptops much more capable at a lower price point. Basic gaming, and browsing done with such efficiency on this platform. Laptop comes with a stylus and a USB C charger to clear out any confusion from the Q&A section.
Just took the laptop out of the box and was very pleased with the overall aesthetic of the laptop. The keyboard is quiet and gives good tactile feedback. The monitor, surrounded by a thin bezel absolutely makes it feel as if you are staring at a 15.6” screen.
I have had this for a month and am very happy. I love that it has an SSD drive and a 1TB hard drive. I wish the SSD had been 256GB instead of 128GB but it is working out fine. I just install most programs to the D: drive. I edit some video which is why I needed a faster PC.
I purchased 2 of these laptops about 3 weeks ago. We are using them for schooling and they are doing great. Kids are also using them to play minecraft. They have been great so far. Our use has mainly been videos and learning games.
Love this computer. 7 hours & some change computing time. watching video at max brightness. doesnt get hot. Lightning fast charges. Heard some bad reviews on dimmess of screen. Not my experience plenty bright. great computer For the money. I would note if u want to upgrade to 1tb ssd like me.
Excellent 2 in 1 in every way. It's been 3 weeks since my Flex 5 arrived, and i keep being pleasantly surprised by its performance. The screen is absolutely superb in clarity, color, & contrast, with the NVidia GeForce and 10th Gen Intel 7 providing flawless image movement & flow.
