Many business customers with enough money to spare have sworn on Lenovo's expensive, but also premium T lineup for several laptop generations. The manufacturer sticks to the tried and tested in its latest 14-inch scion: The input devices and casing are the same as those in the predecessor.

extensively configurable, nice surfaces, decent connectivity, docking port, diverse security features, good WiFi reception, two batteries, one removable from outside, no PWM, three-year on-site warranty, outstanding keyboard, very good touchpad, impeccably implemented technology, perfect Turbo...

expensive, unstable on left side, manufacturing flaws in casing and TrackPoint keys, opening with one hand not possible, needs to be disassembled for maintenance, less than ideal, too dark IPS panel, low color space coverage
But it's hard to describe the appeal of this unit from looks or simple specs alone. You just have to type on it, and use it day to day. Once you do, we bet you'll be sold. You get just the right mix of ports and connections, without needing dongles.

Staid design, No GPU upgrade available
If you're looking for an affordable work laptop that won't pack the bells and whistles of higher-end devices, the Lenovo ThinkPad T460 (starting at $909, about £619, AU$1,269) might be the ideal notebook for you.
I can't recommend this laptop because they senselessly moved a critically important key to where your pinky knows it should not be. Imagine if you bought a car with steering wheel volume control, and then on your next car, they put the horn in that spot instead.

This appears to be a decent business laptop as far as its specs are concerned. It is my first work-issued laptop with an SSD in it, and I am grateful that my employer's laptop contracts have finally caught up with that technology.

However, I am unable to get past the design flaw in the keyboard. The Fn key is where the CTRL key should be: in the lower left corner. If you are like me, and have used standard Windows shortcuts all day long for 15+ years, trust me when I say that your muscle memory will not adapt.
