Marantz has announced its newest slimline receivers for 2015, with the NR1606 and NR1506 now joining the lineup in addition to the full sized SR5010. While two of the models update 2014 receivers, the NR1506 replaces a two-year old design.
This is a very good receiver. Having first tried out a disappointing Yamaha receiver and with more research decided to purchase this Marantz receiver. The sound quality is excellent and was easy to set up.
For the price point this receiver is very good and easy to use.
The response time to change sources, especially the online sources, is slow. And the smartphone apps for remote control need to be more user friendly.
I like the smaller form factor, My Denon's were twice as tall, while this one reminds me of my old 2285b. I have not noticed any issues with the functionality and I use it daily.
