I've used this rangefinder for quite some time now and it has been working great. Getting distances is quick and easy and it was a more inexpensive alternative compared to Bushnell, which I have also used in the past.
I got one, when they were on sale. It works perfectly and is acurate. The only thing I dont like, is the eye piece. Its sometimes hard to look through. As for operation: 1st press on the button turns it on and you get the cross hair in the display. Aim that at the flag and hold still.
Works great. Small size, light. I carry my own bag so that's important. Knowing actual distance to the pin often changes club selection. Highly recommended.
The Nikon CoolShot Laser Rangefinder is highly accurate at ranges of 11 to 500 yards in 0.5 yard increments. It affords 6x magnification and the coated lenses, adjustable focus, and 18.3 mm eye relief provide an excellent view for any user.
The Nikon Coolshot Laser Rangefinder is a no nonsense, quick and simple to use rangefinder. You pick it up, press the power button and aim! It's really that simple. The LED display is easy to read and gives you realtime feedback based on your movements; no pressing any extra buttons to get a reading...
I used this rangefinder for about three months over the course of the last two years and the battery quit. Ok...so I go to change the battery and I then unscrew the holder/black plastic 'screw' on the bottom of the Coolshot.
Works just like it is supposed to. Light and accurate.
Quality, accurate, easy to use.
Junk - broke when trying to install a battery right out of the box.
Worked for just over a year and failed. I get an error message of P7 but nowhere in the manual or on nikons website do I see any information on error messages. Also no listing of warranty time or what to do if you want to make a claim.
