This checked all the boxes of what I wanted: economical, powerful, and had a remote. It has Wifi and Bluetooth and the optical audio input was a bonus.
Accurate Controls, Easy To Set Up, Good Remote Control, Great Sound Quality
doing everything I wanted. playing in 2 rooms the garage and the back patio. get internet radio, pandora, streams my phone and iPod great buy for the price.
This is my first receiver. I purchased this item at a great price point ($300). The receiver connected to a pair of 4 ohm Jamo Classic 4 bookshelf speakers. The receiver sits in the living room and powers the speakers well enough at low to moderate volume levels such that I doubt I will ever test...
I wanted to set up a good, simple, high fidelity bookshelf system. I already purchased a pair of highly-rated Definitive Technology StudioMonitor 45 speakers and wanted a good stereo integrated amp or receiver to go with them (have no interest in home theater as I just wanted to listen to music on...
The sound quality is good. You'll need a sub-woofer. The deep bass signals are not sent to the main speakers. I have 80's vintage Bose 301 shelf speakers that LOVE bass - I have to max out the bass knob to get the clean throaty depth that I like.
returned not what i wanted
Onkyo tx-8160- Good sound that is "easy" to listen to. 2 channel stereo with a output for a powered subwoofer. I chose this unit because it has the internet radio and bluetooth and the last few years onkyo uses a high grade analog to digital converter which gives great sound quality.
I've had this receiver for a few months. I love it. I bought it to replace my Denon receiver that lasted for 15 years. It has everything. WiFi, Airplay, etc. Sounds great & the price for what you get is great.
great sound easy to use
Unit failed after 19 months. Amplifier and receiver continued to work but without internet connectivity. When attempting to connect, unit would initialize indefinitely.
