This is among the best lenses for architectural and landscapes photography, it will not work well with Many others photography such as portrait and in doors sport and so because the f is fixed on 4, it is the general requirement for landscape and architecture photography
Well, it's not a superior lens, but not a cheap one, so some expectations are there. And it absolutely doesn't work at any counter- or even side-light. The glares are bad, and their ugly purple color is even worse.
I have used this lens for landscape, indoor and outdoor architectural photography. It has been the sharpest wide-angle lens I have ever used, (including a 14mm Canon I owned some 10 years ago). This lens was less than half the price and much smaller and lighter.
Great lens, this is my most used lens, very sharp. This lens is not good for portraits as it stretches the image on the sides especially at 7mm. Unfortunately there is no thread for filter.
Have used a few time already and exceeded expectations. The only reason it is not a 5 star is because I have not had time to do any Macro shots. It does not have a "fish eye" effect, which is what I had hoped would not.
Love this lens! When I switched from a DSLR to MFT, the one thing I missed was the ultra wide angle lens (10-20mm) I had, so eventually settled on getting this 7-14mm for my Panasonic G80. I've got to say, it's not let me down.
Need to be careful how to use it as it distorts the edges of the picture, otherwise it's great!
Excellent lens at nearly half price Olympus. I can't see the difference anyway.
The "vario" was something I was not expecting. It's a lack of knowledge on my part, I guess, that the lens would automatically change aperture settings just when I needed more light to come through the lens. (I think the glass quality is very nice though).
Some of the photos look distorted using this lens.
