Well it's kind of funny how I came across this receiver. My vsx-lx 301 amp blew after 2 months. Just right around that time I was also doing research on the different amps. My original receiver had a class D amp. and the 501 had a D3 amp.
d3 Amp, Clarity, separation features 3 year warranty on parts and labor
doesn't have satellite radio (not a deal breaker)
I chose to "upgrade" to the SC-LX501 as it has HDCP 2.2 compliant ports (although not all of them) The menu system was nice but the fine setup of ports and audio setting just wasn't there.
Having recently purchased an Oled B6 it was time to upgrade my old Sony DA2400ES. Having conducted all the usual research it was either the Denon AVR-X2300W Or the 501!! Needless to say I went for the more expensive unit and have not been disappointed thus far.
My Onkyo Receiver bit the dust today and needed replacing. I had heard good things about the Pioneer SC-LX501 and decided to give it a go. On unboxing the amp I was pleased to find that it was very intuitive to set up, the SC-LX501 comes with all the ports you could possibly need and a few more for...
feature packed, intuitive setup, great sound
