The. Yamaha R-S300 functions perfectly although it definitely requires an indoor Terk table-top FM antenna to pull in a particular area station satisfactorily in my mostly below ground apartment - which it does amazingly well with excellent strength and therefore equally excellent quiet (silent)...
Very clear reproduction of music on CD's and LP's as well as FM broadcasts.Highly adjustable controls.Pure direct provides excellent, quiet background reproduction.
FM receiver might be more sensitive.
Nice unit for a simple 2 channel system, rather old school if that is what you are looking for. Nice looking and performs as described.
The receiver works very well. I use it for playing CDs and for my Sirius music stations. The connections were easy to figure out. An excellent piece of equipment for anyone who enjoys good music.
Very Happy. I needed to replace an Onkyo receiver and this one fit the bill well.
A very good sounding, basic stereo receiver. Solid construction with smooth turning knobs, though some control buttons are too small for my liking. A plus is the phono input for turntables.
The system is a wonderful addition to my audio/video equipment suite. I specifically wanted a receiver that could accommodate the turntable that I have. While many no longer have any vinyl records I have quite a number which I have never been able to part with.
FM antenna connection on receiver was not good. Finally managed to get a decent connection by adding a small piece of wire to make it tight.
Great choice for what I wanted it for. Using old Denon DP-23F turntable, Sony Blue-Ray player for cd's & powering real old JBL 88+'s. Small living room in a cabin in the woods. Good, nice clean sound, enough power to wake the chipmunks living under the porch.
Filled the bill to a "T"
Coulda used a couple AC outputs in the back.
Excellent little receiver, I bought it for my grandson for his first stereo system. It's simple to use and has plenty of power to start out with.
Simple to use for a beginner stereo
A nice receiver for what we needed. Good directions and easy to hook up. I did not like the speaker wire connections on the back of the receiver. There are certainly easier methods to connect these wires.
