Had a Technics amp, with components in use since mid-1970's. Decided finally time to upgrade. Only issue with old system was headphone plug-in on amp shorted out during use and couldn't find anyone to fix it. Love my new Yamaha receiver. Remote is a real bonus.
Ease of operation manually and with remote.Appearance with black color.Display is excellent
None at this time.
hooked up to the TV, use for listening to CD's, records. would have rated it a 5 but it has poor reception on some of my favorite stations and the antenna was cheap and had to purchase a new one.
Accurate Controls, Easy To Set Up, Energy Efficient, Good Power Output, Good Remote Control, Great Sound Quality
Poor Reception / Weak Antenna
Great unit. A good tuner for weak signal areas (as long as a decent antenna is used). Plenty of input/output options. Best feature (which Yamaha thankfully retained from earlier models, and which seems to be a exclusively Yamaha) is the continuously variable loudness compensation control.
We use this on a regular basis and couldn't ask for anything better.
Great unit , easy setup and quality sound.
Clean crisp sound through AR speakers. I like the physical controls for bass and treble and pan (which one doesn't see very often anymore). A good choice for a home studio monitor system.
This unit was purchased to replace a 20 year old Yamaha receiver in the RX series. I was looking for a good, not cosmic, audio amplifier/receiver and had no need for home theatre support.
Great sound output. Brought this to replace the AX396. Good bass and mid-range, and crystal clear highs. Gives wonderful sound when coupled with a sub. Definitely recommended
Easy to set up, great sound, and has the tape and phono RCA connectors for the old style of recording music.
