The Acer Predator Z1 (Z271) is a good-looking 27-inch gaming monitor that uses a curved screen, Nvidia's G-Sync technology, and a fast refresh rate to deliver smooth gaming performance.

+
Speedy refresh rate. Solid gaming performance. Nvidia G-Sync enabled. Curved screen. Plentiful settings.
-
-
Expensive. Relatively low resolution. Limited video inputs. Middling color accuracy.
The Z271 delivered a lot of what we expected from a VA panel, and actually a little more. This panel technology is characterised by its strong contrast ratio and deep blacks, which it delivered - well beyond the Acer 1000:1 spec in fact.
-
+
Strong contrast ratio and black depth thanks to VA panel, Decent response times, high refresh rate, G-sync support and low lag make it a good VA gaming option, Good default setup and overall performance
-
-
Missing ULMB blur reduction mode, 1920 x 1080 resolution is limited for general use outside of gaming on a screen this size, VA not quite as fast for gaming as IPS and TN Film options
gysnc can be a little wonky at times, but a driver update has solved any issues I had (flashing screen and major fps loss). didn't really expect this monitor to have such a big base and ended up having to wall mount it.
-
+
was worried about the resolution and size (as some people claim 24" is the max for 1080p), but everything appears crisp and clear with no pixilation. could only find one small spot of light bleed after focusing on a black screen for numerous minutes (I've yet to notice it while watching a movie or...

the menu joystick is pretty sticky when pushing it to the left, but is still able to be navigated.
The true minimum height of this monitor is about 17.75 inches. While you will see specs that say 15.7 inches, that is to the top of the panel. The post of the monitor stand sticks up higher and the little plastic wing is not removable without damaging the unit.
-
+
I really like this monitor but it is important to be realistic about what you are getting. First, if you are looking for a g-sync monitor in the 24-27" range that is not a TN panel, this is one of your few options, especially if you are interested in the 1920x1080 resolution.
-
-
It shouldn't come as a big surprise that a 27" monitor is at the larger end of what is acceptable for 1920x1080. If you abhor ever seeing a pixel then you should step up to a 2k monitor.

if you can get it on sale for 539 as i did I'd scoop it up. at the normal price it's to much but onsale the price point is about onpar with other brand/models like the benq 2730z or asus pg 278q. If you're looking for a VA pannel there unfortunatly arn't alot of choices.
-
+
VA pannel- best of both worlds. coming from a TN pannel (benq) it's a world of diffrence. I can actualy see the top of my screen when playing doom. the backlight glow is very minimal and only slightly noticible when watching a movie with the black bars.
-
-
the osd knob on the back of the one i got is a little chincy/sticky. also wish it had blur reduction like my old benq
I was on the market for a 24 in gaming monitor that offers G-Sync and good colors (IPS or VA) with a 1080p resolution. Since none exists yet, I ended up buying the Acer Z271. I was not sure about this monitor because of the curve and the 27 in, but I find that they greatly improve the "immersion"...
-
+
This monitor provides great colors, great contrast and good response time for gaming. It is my first monitor using G-Sync, and it makes a huge difference coming from a regular 60hz panel.
-
-
The are 8 spots of backlight bleed (4 along the top and 4 along the bottom bezels) that are distracting in darker scenes while gaming or watching movies. It seems to be a common problem with the panel made by Samsung and used in the Lenovo Y27G which shows the exact same pattern of backlight bleed...
Very nice 4 the price.

Nice colors+gsync

Wasn't sold on the curved screen at all, but it's not a negative at all. Flat would'a been fine, but this monitor had all I wanted and needed and was $100 bucks cheaper than some of the other G-Sync monitors. Don't be scared of the curve. It's fine. Also, it's hefty. Has a real nice feel to it.

No dead pixels, VA screen, G-Sync, USB hub, speakers. Buttery smooth gaming with a 1070. Aesthetically it looks beautiful. Great LED features and Predator badging.
-
-
Needed some calibration to really bring out the great colors on this panel. Looks fantastic afterward though. Speakers aren't very good, but what do you expect from in monitor speakers. Just using them while I procrastinate about setting up my sound system after a recent move.
