There’s a lot to like about the 750D’s simple layout and controls. There are more than enough pixels on the chip to produce prints up to A2 size, the autofocus both in and out of live view is fast and responsive and the vari-angle touchscreen is absolutely superb.

  • +

Fast AF system; Good handling; Superb touchscreen; 3.5mm mic port; +/-5EV Exposure Compensation; Built-in Wi-fi/NFC; EOS companion app

  • -

Dynamic range isn’t as impressive as its APS-C competitors; No weather sealing; Kit lens has a predominately plastic finish; Expensive

The T6i and T6s capture really fine photos and acceptable videos. Photography continues to be a Rebel strongpoint, but video could be better. The new Rebels are more evolutionary models than anything radically different from the T5i. Still, these are very good cameras and should sell well.

  • +

Excellent stills, New 24-megapixel sensor, Wi-Fi/NFC for sharing, Fast response, focusing

  • -

30p videos a bit humdrum, Small viewfinder, Wireless pairing could be improved

The image sensor in the Canon EOS Rebel line of DSLR cameras was due for an upgrade, and Canon has done so with the release of the EOS Rebel T6i. While the T6i doesn't have a larger image sensor than its predecessor in physical size, it does offer 24.2-megapixels of resolution, which is a 33%...

  • +

Very good image quality, 24.2-megapixels of resolution greatly exceeds this camera's predecessor, Offers both RAW and JPEG image formats, Minimal noise in low and mid-ISO settings, Fast performance in Viewfinder mode, Includes DIGIC 6 image processor, which is improvement over predecessor, 19...

  • -

Special effect modes are included in three different areas, which is confusing, Some buttons that work in Viewfinder mode result in error messages in Live View mode, which is frustrating, On-screen menu structure could have been reworked to take advantage of touch screen, Autofocus in movie mode is...

The Canon EOS Rebel T6i D-SLR omits some of the features found in its fraternal twin, the T6s, but costs less. While the T6i is no slouch, if you can afford it, spend the extra $100 on the T6s.

  • +

19-point cross-type AF system. 5fps continuous shooting. 24-megapixel image sensor. Vari-angle touch LCD. Smooth video autofocus. Wi-Fi.

  • -

Pentamirror viewfinder. Limited buffer when shooting Raw. Full HD video tops out at 30fps.

The Canon EOS Rebel T6i/750D continues the line's tradition of being the crowd-pleasing choice for family photographers.

  • +

The T6i performs much better than the models that preceded it and the design remains streamlined and functional.

  • -

Image quality and autofocus don't fare as well as they should in very low light.

The Rebel T6i brings resolution and low-light performance in line with its 2015 peers. The 19-point, all cross-type AF system is a welcome upgrade to the line, but is limited in its coverage and isn't good at following subjects moving around the frame.

  • +

24.2MP sensor with low light performance similar to peers, 19-point, all cross-type AF system, Hybrid AF with phase detect in live view, 3" articulating touch screen, Optical off-board flash control, Wi-Fi with NFC, Flicker detection

  • -

Practically impossible to focus on moving subjects in live view, Limited, low-density AF point coverage across the frame, Less sophisticated subject tracking in viewfinder shooting than many cameras, Dynamic range still not as good as class leaders, Unsophisticated Auto-ISO system with no exposure...

The Canon EOS Rebel T6i takes high-quality images at a great value. If you want a entry to midrange DSLR cameras, this is a good pick for you. When you pair it with the standard 18-55mm lens, you can utilize up to three times optical zoom, so you can frame your subjects (whether that's your kid's...

When Canon introduces a new flagship Rebel camera model, it is always the best ever. That has never been a question. But, the amount of "better" definitely varies with each new model. It was a challenge to recommend the T5i over the T4i when a difference in price was substantial.

Canon has done a tremendous job historically in the entry-level area of the DSLR camera market with its well-known Rebel line of cameras. The digital Rebels have been around for many years, and they still remain popular.

The 6Ti is a great little camera. So is the even smaller and lighter Canon SL1 , which sells for less. The only things the T6i doesn't do well are focus while rolling video, and that the T6i has fewer external controls than Canon's pro cameras for people like me who know how to use all the settings.

I am replacing an old version of this camera, and I am learning the different processes. Currently, I have several of the simple features learned, but there is a larger learning scale that I am completely comfortable with.

  • +

both options for simplicity and complexity.

    none discovered so far.

I knew I wanted to get my own camera after borrowing and using several friends, and decided I DEFINITELY wanted to go with Canon over anything else. I didn't think I'd use the touch screen as much... but I use it all the time! I'm in marketing so my favorite part?

It just takes "a bit of getting use to". since it has a higher pictal rating the enlarged prints retain their clarity. Great for blowing up to 8.5 x 11.0 Overall its a great camera and if your use to one of the "T" series, you will have no problem with the T6i

  • +

Nice Camera! I have the T3i and have taken hundreds of pix with it. does a great job. I wanted a bit better version of that camera so I bought the T6i. I wasn't disappointed! It too takes excellent pixs

  • -

One needs to "tweak" this camera and get the settings just right. The auto focus puts you right on the intended shot but it does leave the peripheral area a bit fuzzy even though its on the same plain and distance.

Upgraded from T3i. Similar camera, but higher resolution, faster rapid shooting, WiFi, more automatic settings, so it was time to move up. WiFi connectivity is a nice feature but not something that I use all that often presently.

this is a very great cam and love to take this out as and when we move on weekends elsewhere. when photo quality was compared with other DSLR i have , i feel like this makes more reasonable pictures without any compromise on the overall stability while clicks.
