Dell 17.3" Alienware 17 R3 Notebook (Epic Silver)

Marathon runner. There are many powerful gaming notebooks, but only a few provide long battery runtimes. The third revision of the Alienware 17 turns out to be surprisingly enduring.

  sturdy and high-quality chassis, external graphics card via Amplifier, excellent battery runtimes, many illumination elements, USB 3.1 with Thunderbolt 3, bright IPS display, excellent performance, good input devices, decent sound, handy tools, nice design, NVMe-SSD

  some components are tricky to access, occasional CPU & GPU throttling in extreme scenarios, battery drains under maximum load (mains), only two memory slots, chassis slips easily, high weight

  the screen is about as good as they get; good build quality; the keyboard is excellent; solid performance; runs quiet; good sound quality and volume

  Expensive; Trackpad is a little small and not that impressive; Some may find it too heavy

I would absolutely recommend this laptop, and in fact, I already have to many others, and they all enjoy it just as much has I do. Alienware may get a bad rep, but if you need power of a good desktop but also portability, like I did, this is a fantastic way to go.

  The laptop has great overall performance. It runs skyrim with all the mods I can think of at 60fps, while running and testing various codes for my computer science class in the background.

  It is extremely heavy, but that is expected with a computer with this hardware. Still offers the basic portability I need to carry it around campus. I wish gaming mode had an option to use both the mousepad and keyboard simultaneously, but no such luck.

I purchased the Alienware 17-R3 and I am more than impressed with my purchase. The PC runs my editing software and my games very well without a problem at all. I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone interested in a laptop who wants a beautiful screen, a powerful system and an overall...
