Gitzo GM2562T Series 2 Traveler Carbon Fiber Monopod

So got the monopod out of the box and it is definitely small and light. I loved that. Something I could throw in my bag and forget about. But when I extended it, the leg shifts and wobbles. I thought maybe I had it extended too far or maybe it was just the last leg segment or something. Nope.

Very disappointing. I'm trying to be objective, because I know it can't compare with my GM3551, but it wiggles way too much and feels flimsy. Straight downward stability seems fine, but it flexes and wiggles way too much with any lateral movement.

I was looking for a compact lightweight monopod to use as a walking stick. I am traveling to Iceland in October and needed something that would fit into my suitcase and is lightweight. The shafts are nice and small and the monopod seems very sturdy.

This is more sturdier than the previous model 2562t - work great with my M4/3!

Chose this over Sirui because of rebate and it was a bit shorter; I wanted the smaller size. Mine does not wobble but the bottom leg does not inspire confidence, but its been trouble free. Compared to my Sirui tripod the Sirui is a bit smoother and I like the feel of the locks better.
