Small enough to sit on your desk as a personal monochrome laser, the HP LaserJet Pro P1102w is faster than the model it replaces, adds WiFi, and costs less too.

+
Small. Low cost. Fast. WiFi included. Reasonably high-quality output for mono laser printer.
-
-
Low paper capacity. High cost per page. Manual duplex only.
This inexpensive mono laser is competent for a home or small office that doesn't print much and is strapped for space. But we've seen better models for the price.
-
+
Compact, Easy setup, Supports Wi-Fi, Low initial price for a laser
-
-
High per-page costs, Low-capacity paper tray, Low monthly duty cycle
The HP LaserJet Pro P1102w is an entry-level monochrome laser printer with some added features to make it stand out. One of those features is built-in Wi-Fi for wireless printing, which is really useful in a home with many computers or a small business office.
-
+
Compact and stylish, Wi-Fi printing, Very quick printing, Good text output quality
-
-
No automatic duplexing, High toner cost, Mediocre graphics quality
The P1102w is well priced, is reasonably quick and sports WiFi connectivity. A solid buy for a SOHO or small business.
A small wireless laser printer that cannot annoy the lounge police as it can sit in a cupboard of behind the sofa and once you have connected it to a recent PC by a USB lead everything is done automatically no need even to insert a CD.
HP had a special event a few weeks ago to launch, among other things, a new range of printers that feature what it calls HP Smart Install – plug one in via USB, and it automatically uploads its drivers to your computer, installs itself and is ready to go within minutes. Great, right?

+
Wireless printing; auto-off/auto-on; good print quality
-
-
Smart Install doesn’t work on Macs; wireless instructions aren’t provided for Macs
This printer has been great right out of the box, drivers were right off the HP site but it came with a disk. Software for printing is included. This thing is a workhorse, It prints fast and the quality is great, no complaints at all.

Fairly quiet, fast, prints great, cheap!

Zero so far.
I wanted a basic B&W printer without Scan or Fax capability. This one was the perfect choice. Set-up was a breeze. I was able to wirelessly connect to my home network via modem without any problems and was printing within 10 minutes. I highly recommend this printer.
Having a wireless printer is great. All systems on the work group network can access it.

Works as advertised, once you are successful in getting it installed.

Faulty installation instructions. The instructions state 1. Connect power cord. 2. Connect USB cable, and the HP Smart Install program will guide you. Well, if you connect the USB cable to the smart install program will get hung up and you cannot recover.
Good basic laser printer that only prints. So if you are looking for a laser printer that does more, this is not the printer for you. Instructions to get it working wirelessly sucks - you get better instructions on You Tube.
I had a problem connecting to the wireless part. The directions said to connect the USB cable, which I did, but did not give me a choice to proceed. It either had "back" or "cancel". Also, the USB cord is not long enough.
I have owned several of the HP 1102w printers because I need a wireless laser printer to work in a specific small space, and this does the trick spacewise. Print quality and speed is excellent, off-brand toner is reasonably priced, but sooner or later- 1 to 2 years in my experience- the printer will...
Who can afford to keep ink in a "regular" printer to print the every day stuff? This laser printer actually cost just a few dollars more than the ink cartridges I needed for my old printer and the toner in this new printer will last more than a year at normal printing loads.
It works on both MAC and PC. It is very easy to use and setup, it prints fast, it is light and compact, and the price is right!
