Nikon announces the laser rangefinder COOLSHOT 40 and COOLSHOT 40i for the UK golf market. Now measuring up to 590 meters/650 yards, the COOLSHOT 40 and COOLSHOT 40i are even lighter than ever.
this range finder was a temporary replacement for my high end expensive one I had to send in for repairs, Used it one whole season, with absolutely NO issues, in low light its a little hard to read the display particularly against a dark background (trees).
Rangefinder works well however there are transparent shapes which show in the viewfinder and are distracting. Have contacted Nikon about this - no response from Nikon yet on this.
This is my second Nikon. I bought the 40i about a year an a half ago, and unfortunately I left it in the cart after playing a round, and that was the end of it. I liked the 40i range finder so much I bought another one, because of the slop and the water proof features is why I wanted to purchase the...
Great at reading distance and slope. The only drawback to this rangefinder my husband has found is that it is sometimes hard to locate the flagstick at the golf course with it. It's very easy to use with a good battery life.
My hands are not as steady as they use to be but if you brace yourself against the cart or windshield it works well. Had rangefinder two months and major problem with "stuff" in viewfinder. Very disappointed with this Nikon Viewfinder. Also case is coming unravelled.
I purchased this as a gift for my husband last Christmas and he LOVES it! It has improved his golf game. He’s had it for a year now and it still functions properly
Good item, very clear view, great magnification, but a bit difficult to use. Takes several shots to get a good reading because of induced vibration. The Coolshot VR 80 is a bit more $ but very stable, locks on 1st or 2nd shot. I know, I had the 40i & upgraded to the VR 80.
One of the best Rangefinders I has so far. I love it
Sharp design and color, very accurate and easy to use.
Came with what appeared to be condensation inside, thought it would go away but did not. By the time I tried to return it , it was 1 day over the time limit for return. Nikon would fix it but I would have to pay to ship it to them and their estimate for repair could be 10 days or more depending?
