Digital mixing boards have come along way since the market for small format digital mixers exploded, fueled by early products from Yamaha and Tascam that broke through the price/performance barrier.
Logical layout, 16 auxes/outputs, matrixing, vintage compressor models, fders feel nice. Used it in studio before taking out to a gig. Performed & sounded great in both settings.
James, Presonus worked their asses off to get this board out, and as with anything as drastically new as the SL III, there WERE some bumps in the learning curves. I have had HUGE SUPPORT from the Presonus StudioLive Mixer Users group on Facebook.
Wow, very amazed at how solid this mixer is, and the endless flexibility to get to where you need to on this mixer. A while ago I had the chance of standing in front of a set up and running Soundcraft Expression board, and for the life of me I simply could not figure out how to get around on it.
Well first off this is the 3rd Presonus Mixer that i have bought. By far the best yet. I've recorded to sd card , and done a virtual sound check. That was a breeze. Getting around the mixer and switching between aux mixes and main mix is just to easy.
Awesome board. It has a quality build and tons of routing options and connectivity. My only complaint is that it was released without all of its intended functionality. Completely unusable DAW button. No integration (other than being an audio interface) with Studio One...
I rec my new board yesterday and in 30 min with the new up grade on UC 2.0 loaded on I-pad and phone I was running and playing with it watching videos on set ups and how to use it.
Good desk. Exerlant for amature dramatics.
We purchased this board about a month ago replacing our original Studiolive 24. This boards has been an amazing upgrade. Built in compressors, limiters, gates, and EQ on every channel make it extremely easy to get your mix dialed in.
Use it on two gigs so far. Preamps are clean and quiet. On-board multi-tracking is trouble free, although I also tracked to a computer as a backup. (You can track to both simultaneously.) Next day I stuck the SD card in my studio Mac and the session opened right up in Studio One with settings.
great mixer. wish it worked with pro tools though...
