The excellent power efficiency of Samsung SSDs is now a wellknown fact, and the 960 EVO is no exception, with the Samsung 960 EVO provingto be very energy efficient across all types of workloads, and perhaps evenmore importantly for a consumer grade SSD, it is also very efficient when idleand...
When we reviewed the 950 PRO in the beginning of 2016 we were blown away by its performance so we knew right then that Samsung would only release something even faster next time around and although the 960 EVO is even less “powerful” compared to the 960 PRO (which unfortunately due to severe delays...

The Samsung 960 EVO 1TB NVMe SSD is an attractive alternative in a category dominated by expensive products that often have more bark than bite. Don't expect any more high-capacity value-focused NVMe products anytime soon. The 960 EVO is the best you will get in 2016 and early 2017.

We've only just looked at the flagship model in the new Samsung 960 range, the Pro, and found it to be gobsmackingly good.
The Samsung 960 EVO is the best performing value-oriented M.2 NVMe drive on the market, that is offered in capacities up to 1TB and starts at an affordable price.

Fastest performing value-oriented consumer M.2, Up to 1TB of capacity, Outperformed the Pro version in a handful of tests.

With two very fast M.2 NVMe drives in the high-end/enthusiast market segment in the shape of the SSD960 PRO and its predecessor the SSD950 PRO, Samsung has now, it seems, turned their attention on the mainstream market with the launch of the TLC V-NAND equipped SSD960 EVO .

Pricey, Only a three-year warranty
Samsung's 960 EVO delivers the best price to performance ratio we've seen to date, making it a must have piece of hardware.
I certainly am getting my NVMe freak'on every time a test a newer unit. That said, in relative performance numbers wether you choose a EVO or PRO honestly you'll not notice. This obviously is the big conundrum with the fastest NVMe based storage units anno 2016 as slowly but steadily, storage simply...
The Samsung SSD 960 EVO 500GB drive we tested performed very well throughout our entire battery of tests. Although there were a few instances where the Intel SSD 750 and OCZ RD400 notched some victories.
During today’s report the Samsung 960 EVO delivered some great results. It reached its rated read and write speeds of up to 3.2GB/s read and 1.9GB/s write. 4K QD1 read and write speeds were very good averaging about 50MB/s for read and 250MB/s for write, which is close to the Pro’s 63MB/s and nearly...
Works as intended and hits all advertised specifications. What more could I ask for?Installed in a Gigabyte Z97 Gaming 5 M.2 (~830MB/s Read/Wrtie on-board M.2 slot)Installed in Asus PCI 3.0 M.2 Card (~3100MB/s Read/Wrtie)
This drive is fast! moving from a standard HDD to an conventional SSD, and now this. Mind Blown :) Windows 10 boots with the desktop loaded and all applications started in 28 seconds! This review was modfied by poster @ 10-12-17 09:23 AM

Very fast (installed windows 10 in just over 12 minutes)

Nothing so far
Look, this thing is fast, wicked fast but the only way you can tell is to run benchmarks. In normal computer use you will be hard pressed to tell the difference between this and a regular SATA SSD. If you're buying a new SSD then by all means get this one.

Mine worked out of the box and is still working. Looking at the reviews below I guess I won the lottery. Like all Samsung SSDs fast as stink. I have mine in an ASUS Stric Z270G Gaming and it works flawlessly.

None. I can't even complain about cost since this was a reasonable value.
An NVME SSD is very different from a normal SATA SSD. It's 3 times faster and with a very small footprint. I recommend you buy the retail version of the Samsung SSD so you will get the 3 year warranty and the Samsung Magician software.
