The Samsung KS9000 delivers the latest HDR performance for a price that’s less than the best OLED sets.

Excellent color and brightness, Svelte, fashionable design, Smart TV features with smart home potential

Frustratingly minimalist remote, Awkward external connector box
Samsung UE55KS9000: With its superb picture quality and excellent HDR, Samsung's KS9000 is a force to be reckoned with
The 55-inch UHD UE55KS9000 TV is the first model from Samsung’s brand-new 2016 range. It boasts a revamped version of Samsung’s Tizen-based smart TV system and, for the first time ever in a TV (rather than professional monitor), it manages to deliver 1,000 nits of brightness from edge LED...

Incredibly bright, dynamic and colourful HDR pictures, Standard dynamic range pictures look brilliant too, Much-improved smart interface
-
-
Some backlight banding with HDR, No 3D support, Curved screen not ideal from wide viewing angles
It’s not without its compromises, but the UE55KS9000 delivers a stunning picture for the money. It’s not without its compromises, but the UE55KS9000 delivers a stunning picture for the money.

Bright, vivid HDR capabilities, Stunning picture quality across all sources, well-judged colour palette, Stacks of fine detail, Crisp, sharp edges, Smooth movement, Improved smart TV interface

Blacks could go deeper, Some backlighting inconsistencies with HDR, Curved screen not for everyone
The UN55KS9000 continues Samsung’s dedicated pursuit of the ultimate HDR experience with its high brightness and powerful color technologies. There are one or two stumbles along the way, but overall no other TV range around today offers the same level of HDR excitement for so little cash.

Strong design, Genuine HDR experience, Good value, Outstanding SDR performance

HDR backlight issues, Color striping with HDR, No 3D support
The Samsung SUHD 55-inch TV has a lot going for it, and is amongst the best televisions in the market today. If you have the money, and like vibrant and oversaturated colours, you'll like this TV. If not, the Sony KD-55X9300D produces more true-to-life colours.

Picture lacks sharpness, Tizen needs more app support
A splendid TV: 4K, HDR and superior smarts in a beautiful svelte package.

Excellent picture, whether in 4K, HD or SD, Smart functionality means 4K and HDR programming is easily available, Stunning looks will grace any living room

LCD tech means occasional slight light-bleed issues, No 3D functionality
Most of the time the UE55KS9000 is a stunning TV, delivering all the thrills UHD and HDR can offer. But the edge LED lighting system isn't foolproof and there's no 3D support
The Samsung UE55KS9000 offered a number of tangible benefits over its JS9000 predecessor: deeper blacks, larger colour gamut, higher peak brightness, wider viewing angles, less flickery black frame insertion, more effective anti-reflective filter and lower power consumption.
Not my favorite tv. Had problem, they came out and replaced a mother board, it’s been good, but picture not good. Sometimes when you turn it on, you get black screen, maybe grey, no pic, have to shut off and restart. For the high price, I wish I had got the 8000, not this one.
This is a really great TV! Originally the apps kept bugging out on me, but they must have done some sort of update because I've had no issues with apps for a long time now (iHeartRadio, Spotify, Netflix, Vudu, YouTube). Beautiful picture as well!
I have had this TV sin Jan 2017 and I have nothing but good things to say about it. The Samsung menu is fast and easy to you especially with Netflix and Amazon Prime. It remembers what you've been watching on and instead of having to fully open let's say Amazonia a prime you can just open the show...
So far, this is the best TV I've ever owned. It replaced a 10 year old 40" Sony that was top of the line when I bought it. The difference in picture quality and features is amazing. I've not owned it long enough for a proper review.
Amazing TV set with beautiful picture with cool smart features. Only reason it's not at 5 stars is because it doesn't have screws on the back so I'm a little worried that the back panel will pop out of place like the KS8000 series does. But so far so good. (Knock on wood).
FANTASTIC... just FANTASTIC!
amazing. as good as oled at half the price 5 star *****
Do not buy this TV, Samsung Warranty Service is the worst. My TV developed a horizontal line across the bottom of the screen after approx. 10 months from purchase. Approx. 2 wks. after reporting the problem to Samsung, an attempt to repair my TV was made.
This television has been an absolute nightmare! Screen had to be replaced shortly after purchase. Now we have further issues. The television is still under warranty, and Samsung has stalled and stalled on repairs. Do not buy this TV.
this is a potentially awesome tv ruined with terrible software. it's not the software is made to be annoying but it is so buggy that it will upset you multiple times a day. Youtube is just about unwatchable.
