If all you want is 1GB of CF storage, then you don’t really need to consider the Extreme card. Im a Pro Videographer/Photographer, and I am BIG into having redundancy built into my workflow, as after shooting 1000's of events, and other things, your main system WILL fail at some point Fact of this technology.

I wanted a memory card that would allow me to take rapid-fire photos with no lag for the image to get to the card, and this card did that. I also wanted a card with lots of memory so I would not have to change cards during a shoot and this card allows that.

I needed extra CF cards for an upcoming extended trip. While I was tempted to go with a single bigger capacity card to supplement my existing one, a pair of these was a better buy, and has the added advantage that, if one dies I have another to use.

I think if I do any longer time lapses I will have to get a 32 or 64, should have probably just bought one of those in the first place, but my 4GB cards need to be upgraded.
