The SanDisk Ultra II SSD delivers good performance, and its high-capacity versions are currently the most affordable on the market. The drive includes helpful software.

The drive's 120GB version is comparatively expensive. The three-year warranty is not as long as might be expected.
Sandisk is making a clever move with this Ultra II TLC based SSD series. The trick is to bring the prices down in a very competitive market. The latest iterations from Micron and Samsung make this a hard to dominate domain.
Samsung set the bar for TLC SSDs extremely high with the SSD 840 and further raised it with the SSD 840 EVO. Since Samsung set the base level of what to expect from TLC, now every TLC drive will be put directly against Samsung's offerings, and what Samsung taught us is that a TLC SSD does not have...
Samsung now has some competition in the TLC SSD market and things are not going to slow down. Next year there will be a flood of newer TLC drives being released into the marketplace.
Last month we previewed Toshiba's TLC flash, our first look at TLC outside of Samsung. Today we look at SanDisk's first retail SSD with TLC flash.
Given the 3-year warranty, decent software bundle and aggressive pricing the Sandisk Ultra 2 SSD wins our value award.

Better options out there for heavy workloads
Another blast from the past comes our way in a capacity we've never tested. Here's Chris' full take on SanDisk's 480GB Ultra II SSD.
Here we have our first product from SanDisk at pcGameware and it puts up a sterling performance all areas. The Ultra II offers a nice and simple design that is predominantly black with a rather dominant red SanDisk logo.
One of two still works which is not comfortable for me. Will probably replace both just for peace of mind. I guess the one is under the 3 year warranty, we will see once I get to that point of going for a replacement, but unsure if I would even trust it to go through through the process.

I bought two on 11/22/15 for 2 builds for the wife and myself. They are fast as were inexpensive for price per gig.

However, the one in my wife's computer (boot drive) just DIED and lost everything without warning. I have two identical machine setups latest everything as far as drivers and such. This one that died does not show identification correctly like the other does in the BIOS on either machine.
Never again for Sandisk, will buy Samsung only. Read reviews on other sites - I'm not alone, around 25% of reviews talking about disk failure in 3-6 months use.

Dead after 4 months use , waiting for RMA, all data lost.
When the hard drive on my MacBook Pro started to fail this month at the same time I realized that my back up system in Time Machine wasn't really reliable, I got really worried. I went to Apple, where they told me I probably needed to pay $1000 to get the data restored in a dust free room, etc.
Easy to install it works perfectly with all older devices and new. I have been using it for weeks and there are no issues. Huge performance improvement this is a must-have upgrade if you have new or older equipment excellent product.
This is my first SSD after my 500GB WD Green drive died. I wasn't expecting much to be fair, especially when it arrived. To be fair I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it's just a small very lightweight plastic box. Hard to believe what it can do!!!
Game changer for my Mac Pro early 2009.
Great drive, shame it had to die on me out of the blue after years and years, it was going strong, Overall would recommend this drive.

This drive is great, I have been using it to boot my PC now for years. Bit big for just a boot drive, but once you add in your primary programs the space is nicely used up with lots of space to spare. I have had no problems with this drive since day one. I would highly recommend this drive.

None to report.
This SSD died after 6 months of use, it couldnt be detected at all, not even in BIOS. I couldnt retrieve my files, really dissapointed because it never really showed signs of failing, it just died like that.
I replaced a existing hard drive on my home desktop. Great deal and received quickly.
