Seagate 3.5" Seagate Expansion Desktop USB 3.0 2TB STBV2000300
I bought this to back up my MediaServer. It has been in use for a few months now and not a single issue with it. My transfers are fast. I switched my media server from on board raid 5 to a proper hardware raid 5 controller and between the speed of the new controller and the device I was able to...
You get what you pay for. If you want a big storage capacity for short money, go this route. But, beware that the drive in this enclosure is very slow. You'll get 100MB/s write for a short while (a few minutes) but it quickly settles down to 25-35MB/s. I'm not the only one to see/say this.
I purchased this device to store a LOT of video data on (our creative services media department), hence why we opted for the 5 TB option. We purchased it May 4, 2016. By Nov 7, 2016, accessing the drive is impossible.

Didn't last 6 months.
Bought it to store and stream multimedia. Unfortunately still requires to use DLNA server to stream bluray quality videos when connected on USB 3.0 interface with samba file sharing. Not a defect from the product itself but from the protocol, so I give it 4 stars.

Stable transfer rate and great capacity for the price.

Slower than Western Digital My Book Live even on usb 3.0 but more stable.
Seems like a nice drive, so far. Very quiet. Powers down when not in use. I think I had to re-format this using Apple's Disk Utility for it to work with my Mac.
