Connected it to the mixer and PA system. Could not get a single sound to come out of it. Every single other mic works in the same connector. Instructions in the box are useless. Does it need a battery? Impossible to tell. Happy to change rating if the product works.
I've used this microphone for live performances (rock, pop, jazz) on the trombone. The sound quality is so much better than the standard mic-ing that typically gets used. To my ears, I hear myself being amplified as a "trombone" instead of a "kazoo".

Sounds great, firm grip on the bell, nice flexible arm. I especially like that it's long enough that I can use a substantial mute without causing an issue.

This is the second Beta 98H/C that I've owned. I'm replacing one that the cable wore out on over about a decade of use. I play professionally and the mic always served me well. It sounds good and doesn't color my sound too much.

Excellent when using on horn for outdoor brass performances and when feeding into a live soundboard with electric instruments and DJs for hip hop and rock shows. Great sound quality and no issues with picking up unwanted instrument noise unless I (or the sound guy) does something dumb.
