Pros: 3-way head for do-it-all versatility; fluid-effect damping is pretty smooth (although stiff in cooler temperatures); QR plate has a large surface area; thats pretty much it.
Strength: Well built. Excellent action on the head. The unit is light weight, but very sturdy. Weakness: Quick release friction locks on the legs would be nice, but this is a minor issue. Outstanding tripod! The fluid head is very smooth. The overall construction is very sturdy and solid.
Great for the money. Sturdy. Decent head. Configures to most shooting situations easily. Legs spread out flat for low shots -- also, center post can flip for super low shots (you just have to flip them in edit).
I recommend wholeheartedly this tripod. It's sturdy, very strong joints yet light and flexible. The head feels like a fluid head, makes smooth pans. The only think is it's height.
This tripod seems to be built well and it feels nice and sturdy with my Canon 60D seated on it. The panning/tilting motion is smooth and I look forward to working with it for many years. I give it 4 stars because it would have been nice to get a carrying bag with it. Buy it, you won't regret it.
Honestly this is a really well made tripod. It is sturdy as anything and you can really feel the panning motions resistance and it gives you a great pan. The only con I have with it is the leg adjustments, they are sort of cumbersome but that is a secondary thing, the main thing is it is really well...
I have a fairly heavy Canon XL2 camcorder and I needed an inexpensive but well made tripod that could handle the weight. Although I do have to tighten the tilt adjustment almost completely to keep the front-heavy camcorder from dipping forward, this tripod handles it very well.
The one I had from a couple of years ago would tilt-lock fairly securely. Not this anymore. As tight as you make it,, it still slips- making it imprecise for framing your shot.
Bought this for my SLIK M410 Master Pro Deluxe tripod that I have had forever (35+years). The original pan/tilt head is rock solid but I wanted a fluid head for my new Canon T5i for video & panaramas.
Easy to use product and it works well with my camera!
