Like its predecessor, the AF and drive systems are the highlight, allowing the A6300 to confidently track fast-moving subjects across the entire frame and record a high degree of keepers at up to 11fps.

Best continuous AF in its class., Fast 11fps burst shooting or 8fps with live update., Internal 4k video. 1080 at up to 120fps for 5x slo-mo., Compact and light, weather-sealed body., Wifi with NFC and downloadable apps.

Screen not touch-sensitive nor fully-articulated., Control dials have minimal tactile feedback., Screen can't be brightened when filming 4k., Maximum shutter speed of 1/4000., Smart Remote app needs updating immediately., Downloaded apps often have separate menus.
Judging by its understated model designation it would be easy to conclude that the Sony Alpha A6300 mirrorless camera is simply an upgraded Alpha A6000 with 4K video capture added to its already impressive feature set.
The quick: Yes I own this camera. If you're looking for great 4K, high frame rates and excellent stills in a sub thousand dollar camera, look no further. Not so quick: (used with Vello Nikon F (dumb) adapter, Nikkor 80-200 f/2.8, Samyang 14mm and Samyang 35mm) I'm hearing a lot of negative things.
I own the A6000 and this camera improves on an already stellar camera. AF is quite fast and accurate, nice improved evf, better body feel, and of course awesome video additions. To address Jean Pierre Ballard's review, Adobe has updated to support the A6300 raw files now so I hope you update your...
My comments are strictly video based... I placed an order for the A6300 about a day or two after it was announced. I had a NEX5, NEX 6 and A6000, I loved all 3 of them, so this seemed like a logical next move up in cameras. My A6300 arrived yesterday.

Short Battery Life
I love the camera. Auto focus is incredible. Internal 4k video at 100mb/s had some overheating issues after about 15 minutes of recording in an interview. After leaving it cool off for a few minutes it would go another 15minutes or so.

Easy to Use, Fast Shutter Speed, Good in Low Light, Great Resolution, Small / Compact
This is a great camera with many features. I'm speaking more from a video perspective. I'm very satisfied with it for my wedding films. [*]Highly recommending it!
I recently purchased the A6300 and had about a week to play with it. I did extensive research. Here's THE GOOD: 1. ISO minimum of 800 for SLOG2/3 (unlike the ND gobbling A7S and A7S2 at 3200 and 1600 minimum ISO for SLOG)2.

Easy to Use
Not a perfect camera, but a solid build, very fast Autofocus, Pro grade build and performance. The camera is fun to use with many features... snappy. Wonderful EVF, AF is good at fast frame rates. Feels good in the hand, but almost too small. Noise performance is very good.

Complicated Controls
I shoot portraits, sports action, industrial and corporate photography, and higher education photos for various clients. I've been a pro for 28 years. The camera is the first mirrorless offering from any company that has a fast enough electronic viewfinder that can keep up with lateral action when...
