Sony FE 1.4x Teleconverter

Buying a teleconverter over a longer lens for financial reasons can make sense. The very long focal length lenses are considerably more expensive than teleconverters. Using teleconverters to save space (vs. carrying a second, larger lens) when traveling or hiking can be a good decision.

I use this on my 70-200mm and my 100-400 for extra reach depending on situation. Works great! Be careful; and heed their warning. The extended part you see on this unit can break you camera sensor it you accidentally try to put it on backwards. Great tight fit and does the job as expected.

The Sony 1.4 teleconverter functions perfectly with good quality Sony lenses. I have used it with my 100 to 400MM GM lens and got unbelievable results. It is hand holdable for the average person, easy to use and gives you a 560 MM lens with the loss of one stop of light.

It is one of the best additions that I have acquired for my photography work. It is a perfect match for my SEL 100-400GM OSS. The sharpness of my photos did not degrade when attached to my A7RII and having 42mp at 560mm is just great. I would highly recommend this 1.4x.

Bought a new copy and its quite sharp. I also had a used copy before that performed excellent however that one had more corner vignetting than this one. There is still a bit of noticeable corner vignetting on this one that can be corrected with post-processing - taking one point off for tis though.

Bought a month ago. Works great with the exception of fast action and sports on my 70200 f2.8 GM OSS lens. Don't let that stop you though! Does well aside from that.

I got this extender about 3 months ago. Its an ok solution for wildlife I guess but it has some major drawbacks. The loss of 1-1.5 stops of light, (at full extension on the Sony 100-400 you get f8) causes some slower AF and loss of dynamic range.
