I picked this up for a 5-day gig in Lebanon. I had never travelled with gear before. This bag was stellar on all aspects. I managed to fit the following :C100, disassembled handle and gripTokina 11-16Zeiss 50mmZeiss 135mmGH5 + 12-35mmGH5 charger + 5 batteries2 Canon chargers + cables + 4...
I've had this case for about 2 years and love it. Seriously the only bad thing is I load it with 50lbs of stuff, so carrying it for hours is really hard on you and I'm 69. Mine is constantly packed (I shoot for the local newspaper and love travel photography) with 2 Canon 5D's with battery grips, 4...
I use Fuji X and Nikon Z cameras and travel via air regularly. The Photo Essentials Backpack holds all the gear and lenses I need including a MeFoto travel tripod that I break down. The bag will fit in regional jets and also under the seat if there is no room available in the overhead compartments.
I've been struggling to find the right bag for me. I travel a lot (8-10 months out of the year). The Essentials, while not super fashionable totally gets the job done. It has a small profile which is great when boarding flights because then they don't question if it fits carry on requirements.
Since I have another Think Tank bag, quality has never been a question. It is hard to believe how much gear this little bag can hold: Nikon D810A and D7100 bodies, Nikon 20 mm f/1.8, Nikon 24-120 mm f/4, Nikon 17-35 mm f/2.8, Nikon 70-200 mm f/2.8 and Tamron 150-600 mm lens.
Excellent product, very well constructed. Used to travel with - contents Canon 500mm f4 IS mk2, Canon DX and Olympus E-M1 mk2., plus a few more bits and bobs depending on baggage allowance. Very easy to configure internally, strong zips and comfortable shoulder straps. Rugged and waterproof.
When I traded from a full set of Nikon DLSRs and lenses to Fuji X-Series cameras, I found my various camera bags suddenly were too big. The difference is size between DSLR and mirrorless bodies and lenses is significant. So I began searching for one bag that would serve my travel needs.
Perfect sized bag for bringing your camera on holiday. Plenty of room to carry the essentials with room to spare. It is understated, well made and finished. It won’t fit a Canon 1dx with an L lens attached in an upright position, but will store it lying flat without a lens.
I wanted a bag for air travel and that would accommodate a DSLR plus 3 pro lenses. In addition, I wanted a bag that allowed carrying a tripod on the side. This bag met these requirements. It is well constructed.
Bought this to attach to my motorcycle so I can safely carry my gear and have easy access when I need to shoot. Only wish is was an inch taller so I can keep my EOS 1DX with the 70-200 in it ready to go. But my 5d Mark Mark II fits perfect with the lens.
