That's especially true considering how inexpensive flash media has become these days. Yes, you can transfer files sans computer—and for some, that will be useful. But what good is a file transfer if it takes too long, or you can’t easily view and confirm that everything successfully transferred?

Glitchy experiences, even after a WD firmware update, Bulky, non-traditional size, Bumpy software implementation
The WD My Passport Wireless Pro builds on the success of its predecessor and adds features, functions, and yes, a little weight, but it's worth the trade-off in our opinion. The WD My Passport Wireless Pro offers simple, automatic backups while on the road and the ability to add multiple terabytes...
With the portability, capacity options, and integrated software the My Passport Wireless Pro has, there aren’t many other drives out there that directly compete with it. The Seagate Wireless Plus comes to mind, but it’s been in competition with the original My Passport Wireless and could probably...

Occasional disconnects during streaming, streaming can lag if more than three or four devices are connected at once, getting it to work well with Plex takes quite a bit of effort and know-how, My Cloud app could use more file organization options, not rugged
The content creators of today demand portability and convenience from storage drives, so what would fit their needs? Western Digital’s answer: a portable drive with fast wireless speeds and multiple device interfaces – the My Passport Wireless Pro.

Speed limited by hardware
To see how much data throughput I was able to pull from a WiFi connection to the Western Digital My Passport Wireless Pro 2TB, I used a 2015 13" Apple MacBook Pro equipped with a Broadcom 802.11ac wireless adapter. This MacBook Pro is considered one of the best laptops in the market at press time.
WD's My Passport Wireless Pro is one of the most feature rich storage devices I have seen in a very long time, but it certainly comes at a price.
The My Cloud app is largely unchanged from the version launched with the original My Passport Wireless. We detailed most of those features All connected media can be accessed from the app - you can browse all files on attached SD cards as well as smartphones connected to the USB 2.0 port.
"... it’s a little treasure box of tricks."
Storage for days, but this wireless wonder fits the bill if you want to stream your media collection on-the-go.
The WD My Passport Wireless Pro is a game changer for anyone who wants to streamline access to their content and create easier backups. It offers both peace of mind and convenience.

Won't support Time Machine back up on a Mac, Plex experience could be better.
The earlier reviews I've read of the My Passport Wireless Pro drive were not particularly good. But I believe these were all based on expectations that were unreasonable for what this product does well.
I own the 1st release of this excellent product and it is still fully operation. The 2nd release, this product, is just one step up the ladder of excellency from Western Digital. I would highly recommend WD My Passport Wireless Pro to anyone wanting digital camera memory storage / backup while on...

None that I've found
When in the field for one long day or multiple long days, backup of the material captured is a CRITICAL part of the workflow. All this needs to be is charged up fully and it can provide reliable, simple, hassle-free and trackable of all of the SD cards that you may be using to capture video or still...
I bought this as a memory card backup device for a trip to the Galapagos. It worked fine at home. But when I got to Ecuador, the Wireless Pro stopped any detectable wireless communication. I tried backing up my SD cards, but could not see if they had been copied to the hard drive.
