We use these to amplify actor's voices for outdoor theater performances. We were tired of hauling around giant Mackie 450s, and got a some of these little guys. Sound (at least for voice) is just as good as the larger boxes, and they weight less and take up less room when transporting.
I bought a pair of dxr 15's and now a dxs15sub. In three months I am buying another sub to have a matched set. I am an aspiring singer and I use them with a mackie 820i mixer and a voice compressor. I just got a shure beta 58a microphone. I won't list the equipment I had before.
Great loud speaker. Brilliant how they have so many inputs built into it, RCA, 1/4', xlr, also several trim controls so you can have a mic and a music input at the same time. Takes away the need for a mixing board in smaller applications. Size, output, and layout is great!
These speakers sound great. Compared with many from QSC, EV and other name brands. This Yamaha beats them all in both value and performance!
They're very clean & punchy, and about as small & light-weight as you can get for something with this much muscle. Obviously very similar to QSC speakers, but less expensive. I use them for lead vocals plus some extra volume for piano & sax in a small room jazz context.
Good speaker works well -
Great speaker with lots of power
I needed a compact light weight speaker with robust sound for my part time DJ business. These little jewels fit the bill. After 25+ years of DJ work I just got tired of schlepping around bulky heavy equipment. These speakers are light weight, compact and easy on the back.
If these speakers were a chick, Let's just say I'd have bought the largest ring they got. These babies sound absolutely amazing! I crank them really high and they never cease to amaze me. Always smiling with these singing away with beautiful quality!
This is my first PA speaker. I bought these speakers for home use. I have always been a home theater fanatic. I have owned Klipsch, Polk Audio, Def Tech, Martin Logan, B&W, Bose, and others speakers before.
