Optic is excellant, to adapt to eye geometry could be better. Also no protecton for the eyes aganst light from he side.
I am using my Conquest 10x42's for birding and am very happy with them in every way but one. The objective lens caps do not stay on, one would think a company like Zeiss would be able to figure out how to make a good lens protective system.
These binocs are amazing! Crystal clear, bright and lightweight! Zeiss never disappoints! In addition, they adjust small enough for my short pupillary distance. This is hard to find in this power. The moon and stars look really cool at night too!
I have moved up from a Minolta 10x25 to this binocular recently. First impression - it is well built, has a clear view and has the right balance of weight and magnification for birding all day. The strap and case are well designed.
Since I have so many floaters in my left eye and my vision is 20/30 corrected, I decided to buy a 10x42 binocular--Carl Zeiss Conquest HD. My Swarovski bins are 8.5x42 so it wasn't a big jump in magnification but it helps.
I'm a new birder, 6 months in. These are my 2nd pair. They are wonderful. I thought I would have trouble with the x10 mag. This was not the case. Spotting was as easy as with the x8 Zeiss bins. They are great for spotting hummingbirds and captors as well.
EXCELLENT PRODUCT. OPTICS VERY CLEAR
Excellent purchase and you get what you pay for. Brightens dark areas at dawn, dusk, clarity is wonderful. I like the capability to span between birding and wildlife viewing. 10x42 for me coupled with well designed set up- except eye cups and objective cover.
I purchased these binos in July and took them to South Africa in August 2018. Ive also had an opportunity to use them in the mid-west.The 10x42 is the right magnification for both locations. I was concerned about the weight but it is a non issue.
The Zeiss Conquest HD are excellent quality and worth the price.
