The Sigma 20mm f/1.4 Art lens will not disappoint. However, keep in mind that this lens does perform best when stopped down. That aside, I made countless exposures wide open without first scrutinizing even one frame on my computer—and I was largely satisfied with the results.
In my opinion, one of the best developments to happen in photography recently is the stepped-up offerings of third party...
Sigma has done it again! At first, the sheer heft and size is a little shocking, especially considering it's a prime lens. However, this shouldn't come as a surprise given Sigma's past Global Vision lenses.
Nothing is perfect and that also applies to the Sigma 20mm f/1.4 DG HSM | Art. HOWEVER, in the grand scheme of things the lens is very impressive! Ultra-wide lenses are already difficult to design but developing a 20mm f/1.4 lens of acceptable quality is tough, really tough which tells a lot about...
The Sigma 20mm f/1.4 Art Lens is most definitely a fine example of the lens makers' art. It performs superbly, it focuses close, it is free from flare and controls CA in a remarkable way. The price is high, but its position seems, at least for the moment, to be unique.

Superb optical quality, Well made, High control of CA, Excellent handling, Excellent AF performance

Price penalty for f/1.4 aperture, Heavy and bulky, Not weather resistant
I admit that the tests of fixed focal length Sigma Art series lenses are becoming a bit boring. Every time you get a mechanically solid instrument with outstanding optical properties which, additionally, is sold for a sensible amount of money.

noticeable coma,, very high vignetting on full frame,, work against bright light could have been better.
(Sorry for my mistakes, i speak french) I used it last weekend for a wedding ... just incredible! Since i'm a journalistic type of photographer, this one was on my camera 85% of the time because it allowed me to focus on what i wanted without sacrifying the environement of my subject, wich is very...
At last, a super-wide lens that's sharp and quick! Combining this lens with ISO 6400 on the Canon 5d Mark III and the noise reduction of Lightroom, I am impressed at the scenarios I can shoot hand-held with virtually no light. Candlelight just? No issue.

sharp and great colors

no cons
This lens is an upgrade from a Nikon 20mm f/2.8. It is close to being optically perfect. Although there is no VC, the focus is very fast and quiet. This completes a trio of Sigma Art primes - 20, 35 and 50 mm. Can't praise Sigma enough for these fine primes.
