The Asus Chromebox M004U is a great alternative to buying yet another cheap Windows desktop and it's a steal for the price.

+
Inexpensive. Compact. Quick booting and loading. Full desktop-class browser. Lots of USB ports, HDMI, DisplayPort. Syncs bookmarks and settings via Google. Few malware worries.
-
-
Only 16GB local storage. Keyboard and mouse not standard.
Again, we'd like to see 4GB of RAM come standard, but as long as you keep your open browser tabs in check, 2GB should be fine for most users. And if it isn't, adding an extra memory module is quite easy and shouldn't add significantly to the price.

+
Compact, quiet, and cheap, Chrome OS is simple to use and malware-averse, Good selection of ports
-
-
Limited local storage, Chrome OS still isn't as versatile as Windows or OS X, Users who open lots of browser tabs will want more RAM
If you're looking to get started in the world of Chrome OS, the Asus Chromebox is a very good starting point--so long as you don't mind bringing your own peripherals.

The Asus Chromebox puts the Cloud-based world of Google's Chrome OS into a compact, attractive black box. For its low starting price, you get a decent performance for everyday tasks and a good assortment of ports and connections.

You need to supply your own keyboard and mouse, which might not be as easy as it sounds. Only 16GB of storage might turn off some potential users, while power users will want to step up to the Core i3 version.
As long as you understand and can live with the limitations of the Chrome operating system, the Asus Chromebox M004U is one terrific little bargain. It excels at the types of light-duty tasks most computers are used for -- browsing the web, reading and writing emails, composing notes and simple...

Very inexpensive, Suitable for the way many people use their home computers, Easy to use, once you get used to Chrome, Viruses and other malware not an issue, for now

Will only run programs and apps designed for the Chrome OS, Works best with a solid Internet connection
For a living room computer that you can surf the internet on, this is pretty good for the money but I wish it was a little more powerful and would pay $50 more. I would also pay $100+ more for dual monitors.

- Great value

- Would pay more for faster model
I am extremely happy with my Asus Chromebox. It is ready in a few seconds and I don't have to waste time like on an Windows computer. It is faster than most Windows computers I ever used at the fraction of the cost.

Speed, cost, lack of noise.

Setting up to print.
This is an incredible little machine. No it doesn't run big heavy traditional apps locally, but the reality is most of what we do as users has moved to the 'cloud' these days.I can get all my email in the browser, watch movies, etc without any hassle or worry about viruses.
i have a hasiteta before buy it about Celeron processor but it is really enough, i dont feel any slowness, lagging etc. Actually its generally about chromebox operation system.
