A large screen, a nice aluminum case and power to get you through a work day and then some -- all for less than $300.
Chromebooks are typically small and basic laptops that sacrifice looks for affordability, but Acer’s new Chromebook 14 looks to shake up that trend. In an effort to prove it’s possible to build a cheap laptop without the usual trade-offs, it’s treading an unusual path with its latest Chrome OS...

The Acer Chromebook 14 gives you just about all the features and quality you need from a basic laptop, plus extra niceties like a metal body and almost 12 hours of battery life.

I was previously using an old laptop, but only needed something for basic internet functions and this does exactly that. It set up super quickly right out of the box and was able to use it in no time. It boots up so quickly and even included a padded case to be able to transport it if needed.
This little chrome book is our second one....very easy to set up....its a breeze to set up.....and so easy to use....does not need anti-virus protection as this is not windows driven.NO microsoft programing to catch viruses!....sweet. I give this system A+++....you cant go wrong.
I would recommend this to anyone that wants a "higher quality" chromebook! Has a look and feel of the expensive apple type product! The deciding point (for me) is if you want to eventually change the SSD...

I also have a acer 720P chromebook, which I like but is all plastic, and has a small screen. This chromebook is just what I need, a larger 14 inch screen (with 1080P ) , aluminum case (feels nice and stays cool), and has excellent battery life (so far), and 4 Gigs of RAM...

the SSD is built into the PC (but for me is large enough @ 32 Gigs)
I’m not that big on chrome books. I always felt like why not just get a regular laptop but I really like this chrome book. The aluminum finish is beautiful and easy to clean. It’s small and lightweight so it’s easy to carry and travel with and it came with its own carrying sleeve.
I've been looking for a chromebook that had a full HD screen that's priced right for use for ssh to Linux servers and everything else via the browser. This fits the bill and serves as a light thin traveling tool for remote problem solving. This one fits those requirements perfectly.
I'm an old time computer nerd from the 70's. I've always been curious about ChromeOS and ChromeBooks as to their ability to get real work done. I'm truly shocked that more people are not running up and down the street in joy. For the casual iNet user and beyond - I'm sold.

I consider the Chromebook to be the poor man's Apple computer. I had my last one (a smaller Acer) more than five years. The Model 14 is an excellent computer, and the larger display is definitely a bonus. However, GOOGLE SUPPORTS CHROMEBOOKS FOR ONLY SIX YEARS AFTER THE MODEL WAS INTRODUCED.
Beautiful design! Super sleek and light weight. Screen quality is perfect and matte so no annoying glare! Only reason for the 4/5 stars is the keyboard and processor. The keys on the keyboard are sunk in a little too low to accommodate for the sleek/thin profile. It take a bit of getting used to.

The speakers are on the bottom - I use this on my lap when I am sitting on the couch so I wish they were towards the base of the screen instead.
The Acer Chromebook 14" really surprised me on how fast and efficient it was and how nice and slim the whole Chromebook really is. It has a very powerful processor and enough memory to do all that I need it to do.
