The Acer Chromebook 14 gives you just about all the features and quality you need from a basic laptop, plus extra niceties like a metal body and almost 12 hours of battery life.

Affordable price. Almost 12 hours of battery life. Large 1080p HD screen. Metal body. 4GB of memory. Matte screen.
-
-
Stiff keyboard. No SD card slot.
The Acer Chromebook 14 stands out for its stylish design and big screen at an affordable price. If you're looking for a classier Chromebook, this is it.

The inexpensive Acer Chromebook 14's aluminum body is much nicer than the plastic competition. The matte-finish, 14-inch full HD IPS display is a great size for work and play, but still keeps this laptop's footprint small enough for commuting.

It has no SD or microSD card slot for expanding its 32GB of storage. The keyboard isn't backlit and shallow. Power users will want to step up to the Work version of this Chromebook or look elsewhere.
You’ve seen the headlines: Chromebooks are outselling MacBooks. It’s a compelling narrative, but the fact is that MacBooks and Chromebooks are chasing entirely different markets. Even so, the Acer Chromebook 14 is a Chromebook that even discerning Mac fans won’t hate. Impressive, for $300.

4GB of RAM, Vibrant 1080p display, Solid aluminum alloy housing, Pleasing keyboard and touchpad, Excellent battery life

No SD card slot for added storage, Processor performance has limits
From its attractive design to its solid feel, the AcerChromebook makes a much better impression than its $299 price suggests. We also appreciate the long battery life and strong audio performance. Unfortunately, this system's full-HD display doesn't pop, and the keyboard could use more travel.
Acer’s Chromebook 14 is a two-sided story. For one, it shows the remarkable progress that we’ve made around what a $300 laptop can and should be. It’s made of aluminum, has a fantastic keyboard / trackpad combo, and a crisp 1080p display.

Aluminum finish, Better-than-average display, Good value
-
-
No touchscreen, Lacks SD slot, Mediocre audio
Netbooks often got a bad rap for their numerous faults but in hindsight, they had a far greater impact on the computing industry than most realize.
-
+
Excellent build quality. Superb trackpad. Top-notch audio system.
-
-
Dimly lit screen. Shallow key travel.
Acer’s latest stab at the Chromebook game is a bit of a mixed bag. Its metal-clad chassis is excellent, the keyboard is great, and for a sub £200 device, you’re getting superb build quality.
There's a lot to like about the Acer, including it's smart design, larger screen size, and impressively long battery life. These are offset by a few less than desirable components.
A long-lasting laptop that offers superb value for money.

Great value, Good build quality, Long battery life

2GB of RAM is barely enough, Ultra-cheap screen, Full HD screen option is expensive
Acer's Chromebook 14 looks sharp and works well – so long as you don't try to watch HD video.
I'm upgrading from a Asus C201 11.6 2gigs which I liked so much that I wanted a bigger screen and more memory, so I was looking at a Toshiba 2, then that fancy HP Chromebook came out but this Acer finally came to Best Buy so I could look at it.

No Sd Card
Recommendation: I do recommend this product. At $199, it was hands down the best price to feature ratio in the 14" form factor. While not as powerful as other Chromebooks on the market, it seems as though it will do a satisfactory job for a few years to come.

After sifting through piles of possibilities for a good, budget conscious Chromebook to give as Christmas gifts I settled on the Acer Chromebook.

You take a gamble with any re-certified product and, unfortunately, I lost a little bit in this case.
i got my laptop yesterday and i have never have one its great its so slim line and neat its amazing
beautiful quite light and lovely colour, its very fast and easy to use ideal for me for what i do on a computor i dont use programs just potter around on it and its perfect for me, i would recommend it.
This chromebook has changed my life! I bought it in December primarily for university work. It does everything my Windows laptop does and files can be converted as Windows documents easily using Google drive. I like the fact that it saves documents automatically too.
Really good laptop to be fair! Really nice to use!
Fastest laptop I've ever had
Great laptop once you get used to the system. The price and quality of the laptop makes this purchase a bargain. However, remember this is a laptop built around the internet. The laptop doesn't work particularly well if you're not connected to the internet as the majority of applications are built...
Great chromebook. Amazing speed. Easy to use. Only thing thats slightly disapointing is the screen quality. I would have expected alot better as its HD but doesnt feel like HD.
