I dont know why I see Rode with so many functional and gripping disabilities is still so famous and widely in use- when this thing is available. It's been 6 months I have not changed the mic's 1 AA battery and still working good.
A little expensive for what it is, especially considering you have no option to manipulate the stereo field in post, which is one of the main points of using a mid-side config. IMHO, every mid-side combo mic should output the individual channels, with internal matrixing as an option.
I read reviews of many mics before settling on this audio-technica and was a bit apprehensive about the sound quality. It goes without saying that any external mic sounds better than an in-camera mic, but still, I was pleasantly surprised at the sound quality.
I use this with my Canon camcorder. Way better than then the internal microphone. Very easy to use. I like the selectable Stereo and mono option.
It can do mono and stereo, I don't need to switch mic for different usage. The sound and build quality is very good. I compare tho to Rode Stereo mic and buy this one since the sound and especially the build quality is better.
First off the Fuzzy Windscreen has a bad case of shedding! And tiny furry bits are tragic inside any Microphone. Decent Sound although needs to be polished in post. No headphone jack on the AT is stupid.. as many earlier DSLR's don't have Headphone jacks. I love its size.
Used for singing groups indoors and out very pleased with the result
Excellent DSLR video microphone design for both stereo and mono applications.
Awesome mic! Paired with my GH4 the audio and video is just excellent! Got it when it was on sale!
Used with my Canon 80D. Much better than the built in mic.
