The ATH-Mx Series headphones are a reliable source for monitoring in home and professional studio environments. Because of the increased demand due to the popularity of the ATH-M50, Audio-Technica refreshed the entire line of these closed-back studio headphones for a redesigned feel.

Great for neutral listening. The Audio-Technica M50X offer a well-balanced audio reproduction with the right amount of bass. They have decently balanced mid-range that reproduces instruments and vocals accurately, and their treble doesn't sound too sharp or recessed.

Excellent, balanced audio reproduction., Sturdy and comfortable build.

Slightly leaky., Poor noise isolation., No buttons or audio control options.

Quibbles aside, the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones are a modestly improved version of the already spectacular model they're based on, and among the best-sounding pairs you'll find for less than $200.

The Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Professional Studio Monitor Headphones offer excellent build quality and very detailed, balanced sound with tight bass. They're also very comfortable and have slightly more cushiony earcups along with a detachable-cord design (three cords are included).
-
-
There's no integrated microphone for making cell phone calls and the bulkier design makes them less suitable for mobile use.

The new ATH-M50x has the same sound as the previous version, but with a few added features.

Fantastic sound. Made for music production, but also great for critical listening. If you're seated and working, they're comfortable enough to wear all day. New version of these classic cans now features three detachable cables: one long, one short, and one coiled.
-
-
No in-line remote or phone controls on the cables. Even with the new mobile-friendly short cable, the big and bulky over-the-ear design isn't entirely mobile-friendly. They fold, but not much, so they're tough to travel with. Probably too heavy for walking around town.

The Audio-Technica M50x is one of the most popular headphones among producers, artists, engineers, vocalists, you name it. For under $200, it’s impressive that this deceivingly unassuming headphone has become such an industry standard, especially in a profession full of exorbitantly priced gear and...

Overall, the Audio Technica ATH-M50X are a good step into the higher end spectrum of headphones as they do not cost a ridiculous amount of money and still sound great. The price tends to be around £100 but it does fluctuate a bit so you might see the price up at £125 or down at £75, so just keep an...

Proprietary 45 mm large-aperture drivers with rare earth magnets and copper-clad aluminum wire voice coils. Exceptional clarity throughout an extended frequency range, with deep, accurate bass response. Circumaural design contours around the ears for excellent sound isolation in loud environments.

Great news! Audio- Technica has recently introduced its revamped line of studio-grade and very much professional over-ear headphones. One of them being a new mid-level flagship successor to one of the more well known and admired headphones in recent years - the ATH -M50 .
Outstanding clarity and fidelity - from the lowdown growl of Jack Bruce's bass in Cream's version of "Born Under a Bad Sign" to the tinkle of every ice cube throughout Hendrix's "My Friend", these phones are sweet. No frequency range overpowers any other.

Very nice price. The three included detachable cables make this versatile.

The included carry pouch is too small for my taste, even with everything folded. It would be sufficient for a few accessories, though.
For practice and monitoring on keyboards. Sound good with my Yamaha DGX670 keyboards. Crisp and clear grand piano sound came through well. Look durable with good material. Comfortable for longer wear. Got a screw in 1/4 inch adapter for external speakers.

Good sound and build quality on these headphones, but it does sit a little hot on the ears after a while. I wouldn't say that the frequency response neutrality and detail is up to the standards of proper audiophile gear (open-back electrostatics, planar magnetics, etc.
Sound output on PC and monitor seemed not strong enough without an additional amp. When they get enough juice, these things are very clear and sound great. Love that they came with 3 different cords. Only had them a few days.
The Brand keeps it s way up in top, high quality product ,and really nice sound isolation . I recommend
My first product review, I highly recommend these for any type of music listening on your laptop, iPhone, Andriod, etc. They truly are great. For my first pair of real quality headphones, I hit the jackpot!
The connector for the cord to the headset is proprietary and not 1/4", so I needed to buy a coupler for a comfortable setup, out of the box, I found it too short. I found the connectors one both ends prone to static if manipulated, more towards the 1/4" side of things, but cannot guarantee it is a...
I have spent a long time looking for a pair of headphones that I could use on the road for mixing and mastering tracks, as I'm an audio engineer who travels quite a bit and it's extremely inconvenient to only be able to work at home on monitors.
I love the comfort and sound quality of these cans! I also have Sennheiser Momentums and Klipscsh M-40 (now discontinued) and these sound as good as the Sennhiesers or Klipsch, but more comfortable in my opinion.
These phones deliver crisp, quality sound no matter how low or high the volume. They fit comfortably and can be worn for hours. I was apprehensive in buying them because I was worried that they would get to hot wearing them. However, repetitive wearing quickly alleviated that concern.
