This TV was purchased for my kitchen and cable was hooked up to it. Some channels were fuzzy and some were clear. Had to put a cable booster on the cable hook-up to make the channels clearer. Once done, all channels came through very clear. I am very pleased now with the picture quality.
We purchased this product as a replacement for older model. It is not bad value for the money. There are a couple of things that could be better. The screen is really shiny, so sometimes it reflects other light sources and keep in mind that you have this product in kitchen, so you have other light...
The Audiovox drop down TV is perfect for under a cabinet in a kitchen. It replaced a TV and radio/CD player, freeing up counter space. It works very well. The picture is clear. The sound is good. And it plays DVDs, which most people probably couldn't do in their kitchens.
I am totally satisfied with this TV. I expected poor audio and video out- put, based on some reviews, but am happy to report my TV is great. I had to re-tap the 4 mounting holes from metric to NC standard to accomodate 4 inch mounting screws and I now have the cable box on top of the TV.
I bought this to install in an RV. The picture and sound quality are both good. It is not a 9 inch picture though. The screen may be nine inches but it seems to always be in a wide screen mode so you lose about 3 inches of picture.
I had the same model previously for many years, and when it died in January I purchased the replacement, hoping I would get at least 5 years out of it. Sadly, the DVD player broke after about 8 months - the disc drawer will not open.
I purchased this item because it was the same exact item/brand that I had hanging under my kitchen cabinet (I thought). When I received it, I had to drill more holes in my cabinet, because the holes didn't line up, even though it was the same dimensions.
I bought this for my 79 year old mother who loves to watch TV in her Kitchen of her mobile home. I personally installed the Cable TV wire, mounted the unit under one of her cablinets, plugged it in and set it up for her. That was March 2012.
Reception and clarity is good for only a 9" screen. Three negatives: (1) was not able to sync TV remote with cable (AT&T U Verse)digital box remote - having to use 2 remotes is frustrating. (2) Had previous same unit only (approximately)3 years when it lost all its power.
There is a serious design flaw in this TV. It does not correctly down-mix 5.1 audio in a TV broadcast to output the correct sound. When watching a network broadcast with full 5.1 audio, you will frequently hear very low dialog or no dialog at all. You will clearly hear music and background sounds.
