Azden EX-503 Lavalier Microphone

I think this microphone is pretty good but I am not in love with it. I use it attached to a sony ICD recorder which is pretty sensitive. The mic picks up the closest person pretty well and doesn't produce too much noise if I have the settings right.

I'm using this with a sony bluetooth based wireless system and it works well. It doesn't have as high a sensitivity as I would like and isn't super compact either but great for the price. Better for voice than full fidelity music.

Its good enough for most of my pro work but not the best sound compared to more expensive mics but I use it all the time. Clients dont know the difference.

I use this as a clip on mic for interviews and wedding video. It works especially well for weddings to capture the vows and go along with the video. I was impressed with how clear the sound was and the noise cancelling was great.

I use this microphone to mic the groom at weddings. I run it into a Tascam DR-03. It works great!

I bought this Mic after trying out a friends. Mic sounds good with some EQ and compression during editing.

Unlike other Azden products I've own for years (shotgun mics and wireless mics), this Lav. is not good at all. Not even worth returning.

I have been using these microphones for over 20 years in my wedding videography business. They are dependable and durable which is important in this business. There are higher priced alternatives, which I have tried and for the cost difference, 99% of my clients would never know the difference.

Worked flawlessly. I am impressed with the quality.
