I used this mixer for the better part of a season on an ocean focused natural history show. Complete run and gun. Its packed with features. No rust from salt water spray (yet). It's been banged up from a lot of travel (always in a checked in pelican) and didn't miss a beat.
Great for when I don't have an audio guy, or for my PA to run audio. The Meters are a bit finicky, but you can calibrate them and they are more than passable. Best if you can also see the camera's meters while operating for a little extra confidence if you want to ride the levels on the higher side.
I used this on a 30 day shoot where the production had their own equipment. Was connected to a zoom H4 for recording. the controls are great the master volume is amazing to use and makes things handy, the pan is easy and flexible.
I use this mixer for location/eng sound for video production. The mixer is built solid and has all the functions needed for location sound. I like the VU meters and the limiters work well. For the low price...well worth it.
I use it for mixing during deposition recordings. It is quick to set up. Easy to manage the levels. Built in 1khz tone. The slate mic means I don't have to set up another mic just for announcements.
As an old field soundo sneaking back into the game, I was on the lookout for a field mixer that reminded me of the old Sony MXP42 I used to run. Without the first up cost! Found it. I think a lot of people would say the standard thing of, too cheap, Rubbish, and such, but for the price?
Got it on Tuesday used it for a 4 camera shoot on Wednesday. Very impressed with the sound quality.
This little mixer has a great set of features and is a lot of mixer for the money. The individual control over phantom power on each channel, as well as the individual gain adjustments on each input are extremely useful.
Great mixer and made in Japan. Very reliable and pro sound. You won't regret buying it.
I use this for doing production sound and for the price point, this unit works well and is quite quiet. I run this unit into a Sound Devices 702 and get consistently good results. It's easy to use and pretty rugged. I'm using it until I upgrade to an Sound Devices 788 or Zaxcom Deva.
