Mic works great. I use for School Board meetings and independent filming. This is my second one. First one still going strong.
The product has a great feel, I'm using it with a Zoom H4N, to be honest I wasn't expecting it to be that good, it captures the sound very crisp and loud. At first I tried it with the Azden SWS-200 High Performance Softie Windscreen on, the sound was ok but as soon as I removed it, I was amazed.
I have used this product shooting weddings and also for voice-over in television commercials. Sound is clear and has goood rejection of background noise. The battery lasts forever and the on/off switch is a plus. The low cut filter really is good in noisy environments.
This mic has very high usability and versatility. Tons of uses for it, nice warm sound. Would've liked it better if it actually produces a slightly brighter sound tho. Build is very solid, works very well. Pretty good mic overall....
I teach high school film classes in addition to owning and running my own media production company and for the money, this mic is a real trooper. It's tough and takes the rough handling that teens put equipment through but light enough so that it doesn't add a lot of unnecessary weight to a boom...
For the money this is a basic, slightly-tinny, yet effective shotgun. There is one part of the rig that is plastic. Guess which part breaks? Yep, the shock mount is trash. Anyone know of a higher quality aftermarket that will last longer than one year?
Nothing really to write home about. But good bang for your buck at this price.
Pleased with the quality here for the cost. I use on my FS7 and while its a bit bulky it gets great quality sound, especially at this price point.
I am by no means an audio buff, and audiophile, or a professional sound designer, but I do do some video-work for some cliental and audio is an area which needs to be taken extremely seriously. With that being said, this product works.
I picked up this mic to use mostly as a boom in my small production package. The sound I got from a series of exterior shoots (sometimes with noise and light wind) was as good as similar shotguns with slightly higher price tags such as the Rode and Sennheisers.
