Tried several monopods for my wedding business and I like this one better than the manfrotto for a couple reasons. First, you can lock the feet, making the one leg unable to lean.
I got this for my Canon HF G30 to do youth sports. It works fine once you get the tilt dialed in just right. The pan was a little sticky on mine in spots, so I took the top plate off and loosened the big allen bolt about 1/4 turn and it fixed the problem.
The ball at the feet is not smooth enough, even after loosing the bolts and putting oil on it. The locking mechanism comes loose after every shoot. The rubber bands between each lock keeps moving and interfering with my workflow.
Great little set up for run and gun with light rigs. This is much better than Manfrotto, and I think it lies more in the level of Sachtler. Very nice bag included with tools too.
Nice flow of movement in the head with pan/tilt actions. The Manfrotto is overpriced. This is a better option. Light-weight, easy to extend the length with flip-tab lock extenders, and will accept a Manfrotto 577 Quick Adapter plate for fast swap-out to another system (like a GlideCam etc.).
I needed a relatively small, compact, lightweight video head to pair with my Fuji X-T3 rig and this one fits the bill. I could spend hundreds more, but the compact size of the S4 makes it perfect to mount not only atop my larger Bogen tripod, but also onto my small MeFoto travel tripod as well.
Very nice monopod. It is pretty big though, if you want a small monopod to carry around this is not the one for you. The head is smooth, and the locks on the leg work good. I like the foot although you need to make sure it is locked if you want to be straight up and down, also make sure that it is...
An excellent product, every detail is perfectly designed to work for your advantage. Price a bit high but worth.
i love this product, i work making news and it's one of my indispensable accesories for my camcorder, excellent finish, the head works very well
Good product, does everything I need it to do. No real issues.
