Canon 12x36 IS III Image Stabilized Binocular

The physical dimensions of the Canon 12x36 IS III and its weight, amounting to just 660 grams, make it similar to any 40-42 mm class pair of binoculars and they are often companions of our trips. I don't see any reason why the stabilized Canon couldn't be taken along as well.

  solid casing,, sensible correction of chromatic aberration,, very low astigmatism,, excellent coma correction,, sharp images almost to the very edge of the field of view,, slight brightness loss on edges of the field,, very good white balance,, dark areas around exit pupils,, good blackening and...

  such an optical system should have provided a trasmission that exceeds 90%,, short warranty period,, not especially circular exit pupils.

I have had the binocs for 5 years and they are just as good as when I first purchased them. I use them for Astronomy mostly, great for meteor showers and locating constellations. The next size up are too much weight and these are the best size!!

I love these 12x36 binoculars. Initially I was concerned that needing to keep holding down the IS button for it to operate would be a big detractor, I have found that the button is very sensitive and only light pressure is needed to keep the IS operating. Its only a minor inconvenience.

Been using the 12x35 IS ii version for astronomy for about 10 years. Usually from a recliner under Bortle 5 or Bortle 3 skies. They’ve been excellent in all respects. Don’t be put off by the size of the objectives.

love the stabilized vision while looking at deer antlers from a distance. It helps to see details I've missed in the pass. I like that the stabilized feature only works while holding the button down so it's only used when needed and battery will last longer.

I bought the 12x36 IS III for my wife (and me, I guess) before we went to Hawaii (6th trip in 4 years). We were able to see everything much better. I really added to the trip. Seeing the surf boarders up close ... great wipeouts. Bird were great. So glad I got them.

Have tried this on observing the night sky only, got wonderful views of the Moon, M42, M45, M37, M41, and the comet 46P. The IS feature is the most impressive. Push the button, the hand shake is completely eliminated allow long and detailed view the objects.

Very happy with the 12x36 IS III, love them, replacing all my other standard binoculars, with this one.

I bought these to replace my wife's old 10x30 Cannon bins. The IS iii is a huge improvement. These are only 2 oz. heavier and way brighter and more powerful. Very pleased and impressed with Canon IS technology.

I have had them for a couple weeks and really like them. Complaints: 1. The eye covers should be one piece instead of 2 and they should be captive. 2. The image stabilization push button should be push and hold for stabilization until it is released AND 2 quick pushes to turn them on for a couple...

After reading lots of positive reviews I got to first hand experience what these binoculars could do. They deliver as promised and am entertaining getting a pair of the higher powered ones down the road.
