The Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L USM is a unique lens that combines an incredibly wide field of view with a zooming design and constant aperture.

Ultra-wide field of view. Maintains f/4 when zoomed. Very sharp.

Shows some barrel distortion. Corner and edge dimness. Omits filter support. Big and heavy. Expensive.
The new EF 11-24mm f/4L USM Ultra Wide-Angle Zoom Lens was primarily designed for full-frame cameras. You can use it on an APS-C (cropped-sensor) body, but it would be a shame to lose the dramatic perspective afforded by that 11mm focal length (in APS-C-speak, that roughly translates into 18mm).
I've had the Canon 8-15mm Fisheye in my kit since it was introduced and really like it, but I didn't find myself pulling it out very often. The distorted look was the primary reason for that lack of use.
This new ultra-wide angle zoom lens is currently the widest rectilinear lens available for full frame SLR cameras. It sports a reasonable f/4 aperture throughout the zoom range, silent Ultrasonic focusing, with full time manual override and a weather resistant build.
The image quality for such a wide angle lens is nothing if not impressive. The Canon 11-24mm Æ’/4L exhibits excellent center sharpness at all focal lengths, even wide open. And while the corners aren't super tack-sharp wide-open, we were certainly impressed by just how good corners looked for such...
Can you actually praise an expensive lens with a significant number of serious flaws in the summary of your test? This time the answer seems to be ‘yes’. Firstly, Canon squared up against a problem which so far hasn’t been touched by any other producer.

brilliant image quality in the frame centre,, very good image quality on the edge of the APS-C sensor,, sensible image quality on the edge of full frame,, lack of longitudinal chromatic aberration,, imperceptible spherical aberration,, lack of astigmatism-related problems,, slight coma,, moderate...

high level of lateral chromatic aberration at the 11 mm focal length,, huge distortion at 11 mm,, high vignetting on full frame,, disastrous work against bright light,, no possibility to use classic filters.
The Canon EF 11-24mm f/4 USM L may have some weaknesses on full format cameras. However, thanks to the sweet spot advantage on APS-C cameras, the situation is much different here. Resolution-wise the center remains breathtakingly sharp, of course, but the outer image region is now very good even at...
Canon's latest additions to the ultra-wide arena have been impressive. The Canon TS-E 17mm f/4 L is awesome and the EF 16-35mm f/4 USM L IS is best in class. So is Canon's mojo sufficient to deliver greatness with the Canon EF 11-24mm f/4 USM L once more ... even on the EOS 5Ds R ?
Those simply looking for a high quality wide angle lens, may be looking a this optic with great interest, and the high levels of sharpness, reasonable distortion and good control of CA may have these people tempted. The price of £2800 puts this lens into a category of it's own.

Outstanding optical performance, Unique 11mm focal length, Excellent build quality, Reasonably low distortion, Fast autofocus, Dust and moisture resistance

Slight wave to distortion pattern, Large and heavy due to optical design
When it comes to choosing a wideangle lens, photographers using a Canon full-frame DSLR have one of the best ranges available. For those working to a strict budget there’s the very respectable EF 17-40mm f/4 L USM, while for those who can justify the cost there’s the superb EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM,...
I am a novice photographer unworthy to own the latest Canon 5d iv and now this unique 11-24 ultra wide. I was intrigued by the reviews. It is such a unique and specialized lens I was thinking on returning it for the more mainstream new Canon 16-35 2.8 iii. I already have the version i.
The canon 11-24 is world's widest ultra wide lens, the only rectilinear lens with a 90 degree in portrait format. - ideal for landscape, architecture or interiors. Assuming you own a 24-70 then all other wide angle zoom have a significant overlap in zoom range - however you need to cary almost the...

I purchased this lens few months ago and using for landscape. That's was amazing, super wide picture, sharp, details. The feeling of holding hand is very good. The lens is suitable for architecture I just regret that is has no IS mode.
Excellent quality. Great effects with this lens also.

Heavy
Use the lens for outdoor photography including landscapes. This lens is a beast. It is quite heavy. Has a rear filter holder but you ha e to be careful using filters when using the lens at 11-12mm as the rear element will hit the filter. What you can capture with this lens, to me, is amazing.
The 11-24 is a great lens. Perhaps one of the best. But it's not perfect. Firstly, it weighs a ton. There is a certain level of commitment needed to desire to haul this lens with you. Secondly, the extreme stretch of the 11mm is... well extreme. And if that is the look you are after it's great.

I traded in my 16-35 so I could start taking more creative ultrawide angle shots. It's expensive but worth every penny!
I absolutely love this lens. Great for 4K on 5D mark IV, Real estate photography & video projects. Colors are what you would expect from Canon, Amazing! I own the 16-35 2.8 ii and was very impressed with how much more range I got and with almost NO distortion when centered correctly.
